Well, without posting important info for the world to see, who's going to Atlanta and are you staying close to the competition?
We are going and taking 5 teams this year. (last year we took only 2) We aren't staying close though. With that many kids, we have to get buses anyway, so we got a better deal on the hotel. I think the only problem we are running in to is the food situation. Last year at the Hilton, we didn't get back till after 11 pm and they just weren't ready for that many people who were STARVING.
Anyone have any ideas? How do you feed over 300 people at midnight???? I think I might have to bring a suitcase of food with me!!! hehehehehe

ACE of Alabama will be there!! But it's only a two hour drive for us, so it makes lots of sense.
We've had to do the late at night food situation as well. If the hotel has a kitchen, make sure the hotel knows in advance that you will have those situations for a couple of nights. Work out an arrangement where you will guarantee "x" number of diners and I've had hotels provide a midnight buffet. You will probably have to have the gym pay for the meal and have people sign up. You would then have to police the entry. But it's worked for us before.
Good luck and I hope to meet a bunch of you at Cheersport!
Hmmmmm, that's "food for thought!" Thanks for the tip!
Atlanta last year was a BLAST! Can't wait to go again! But it's a week drive for us! lol
Guess it's good we are flying!

Cheergyms is taking 2 or 3 teams. My daughter is not on one of them though. Don't know if I'm grateful for not having to travel or disappointed that we will be missing what will certainly be a truly awesome experience.
Oh Pixie, I wish you were going! We had so much fun last year! It was so cool to see so many teams from all over. Some were the "typical" cheer teams and some were WAY OVER THE TOP. You got to see it all!
I think my favorite memory was when we had our gym dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe and the waiters, waitresses and KIDS were dancing ON THE TABLES!!! I am not kidding! They encouraged it too! It was nuts and a total BLAST!
I had a good time with the kids at the hotel even though the security wanted to kill us! We were on California time, so 1 am was only 10pm for us! All of our teams performed at night, so we didn't rush to go to bed. Good thing they put us on the same floor!!!! Neing 38 years old and staying up all night with teenagers was a killer though!!

I would love to go and support the other teams, leave the kids at home...You know, I've always wanted to go to Atlanta!
But reality sets in, spring is the busiest time at work, can't justify it. Boo hoo... But maybe next year my squirt will be on one of the teams that goes (she's on a junior 3 and only the level 5 teams are going) and then OC MOM, you and I will close down the Hard Rock!!
And make sure that your gym knows that there are all levels that compete in Atlanta and I truthfully haven't been to a more FUN competition! It's really a great place for everyone and is TONS of fun!!!!

They are aware of multiple levels there. Although I haven't heard this from them, I believe that Danny and Morton only take the higher level teams because of the costs and commitment involved in travelling across the country.
Pyramids will be bringing there Sr. Gold team (Small Senior L5), and their Jr. Black team. The Jr. Co-ed team is a level 5 team, but we will be competing level 4 in Georgia. Hope that helps! Good Luck to all of the teams going! I can't wait...
I CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!! last year was such an amazing experience and i cant wait to go again!!!!! ahhhhhh im too excited for words! haha that was kinda corny but oh well =)
I have never had grits before. Are they like cream of wheat??? I LOVE cream of wheat.
