Keep in mind that the kids are told to keep going, no matter what. And since none of them have their medical degrees, they can't make a medical diagnosis while doing fulls and tucks. That isn't their position anyway. They do what they are told. It's up to the coaches to make that decision, and even though they don't have their medical degrees as well, someone has to make the call.
20/20 hindsight is always right on, but unless you are there and step in to help, you can't second guess what happened. I don't think any coach would leave an injured child on the mat just to win.
All I know is, even if my daughter is seriously hurt out on the floor, I will NEVER blame her coaches. They always do what's best for her and her teammates. Sometimes they make the right call and sometimes they don't. Just like me, they are human. Even if she were at home and did the same thing, I might make the wrong decision too.
response to JEnnyCheerCA: Word on the streets is she was not ready to throw this pass both mentally and physically in the routine. Is it true?
our coaches would never say anything like that; and for you to blame our coaches for teaching us to act like that.. read that last comment and tell me that we should blame your CA coaches for you thinking like that

Hi This is Patrick from the coed team and lauren is my flyer and when it happend i dont think anyone really knew what to do, and im not going to lie i was crying my head out i mean its kind of the last thing you expect or want to happen so when the other girl pulled her off the floor i'm sure she only wanted to get her to safty so dont get all crazy about moving her and I know if she is reading this I want her to know I LOVE HER and when we put payton in her spot i felt soo bad but when we put her up in the stunt i screamed as loud as i could For LAUREN!!!!! and we stuck it so yeah it was all for you girl your the best im glad your back in the bay and yeah im not too sure what all the stuff was about the diva coach so what ever with that im sure she didn't i mean its lauren who could hate her but i did hear some rude stuff said by some of the guys from another team im not going to name the team cause drama will only come from it but i mean come on were guys were supposed to be here to make sure they dont get hurt and stuff why would you say " great now were going to be here longer" or "I wonder if that counts as a touch(laugh), well she ate it hard enough" I mean really wtf you sure wouldn't be saying that if you knew her she is the best person i will ever meet and im sad that i wont get to finish my last year with her cause she is the best I love you LAUREN!! and come one guys and girls its just cheerleading we are people too remember that lauren wasnt just another full or another stunt worth more points .... she is an amazing person and she is priceless L♥ve Peace Chicken Grease ♣The Penguin♣
I agree that the girl that pulled Lauren off the floor should not be Faulted!! She thought she was doing the right thing and my heart goes out for her as well as Lauren. I too believe that she was trying to get Lauren out of the way and into a safe area. I have to admit when I saw your team come out with the "Lauren" sign, I was touched! I heard so many people expressing genuine concern for Lauren. I certainly hope it's not true that people were laughing!! You guys and gals at NCE are a great group of people. Keep up the good work, and a speedy recovery to Lauren!!!
about her being faulted.. ya the judges have no heart at competitions. we LOVE lauren and she is the person on our team that LEAST deserves this.. the judges counted the whole incident as a missed stunt.. missed pyramid.. missed everything. how are these people judging it.
hopefully lauren gets a speedy recovery.. we love you lauren.. best wishes
The same thing happened to Cheer Athletics Jags, so at least they are consistent. Technically they are right. If you have an injury, regardless of its severity, you still have stunts that won't go up and tumbling that isn't performed. If you start ruling out injuries to not count against you then almost every team would get that. How many kids go out there injuried at every competition. My compassion goes out to all the teams who are hurt during a performance, but it's still a competition.
