Jags did get a bid. There was confusion because they called out SJ Storm Large Coed instead of California Small Senior. SJS wasn't eligible for an At Large Bid.
They had some serious bad luck with the girl getting hurt in the middle of the routine. Surely Jags will end up and with a paid bid. They are the defending World Champions, after all.
Division winners get bids automatically: Georgia Large Coed (Paid) CheerForce Small Coed (Paid) Cheer Athletics Panthers (At Large) California Small Senior (At Large)
Next highest scores: California Large Coed (At Large) Cheer Athletics Jags (At Large) South Jersey Storm (not eligible)
Also, the winners of the International Divisions got bids: CheerForce Int. Junior CheerForce Int. Coed
I noticed that CF alcatraz had 42 people on the roster. Is this to make it look like they had 42 kids signed up. Do the kids have to compete at the comp or just be on the roster to compete at worlds. If they just have to be on the roster then CF might be taking out the crossovers and just putting other kids in their spots?????? I need some answers here it sounds logical to me.
So what will you do with the crossovers. How will you choose which team they will compete on. For example the girls that double on Alcatraz and diamonds. How do you decide which routine needs them more? Just curious. Congrats on a great weekend!
Diamondz will keep all the cross overs and we will fill the other two teams with other members from our gym. In this way we can give 105 kids in our gym the amazing opportunity to experience Worlds with doing it this way instead of just taking one team of 35. Hope this helps.
I heard at the comp, people saying of course cf won, they had 42! I also saw it written on another board. Are people really that silly? They see a number registered and just don't get it. Wouldn't each registered member have to be paid for? So who cares? Only 35 on the mat folks! Subs will happen later. Jeez
The reason why they paid for 42 is so they can sub in an extra seven kids. 35 on the matt + 7 extra = 42. So my guess is they have atleast 15 cross overs from Diamondz to Alcatraz. With ten subs that leaves 5 more people. Well since they paid for 42 that leaves them seven more open spots so they can add those 5 others in and have an extra two subs. That's what I got from reading some other posts and thinking about it myself. It actually sounds pretty smart.
I'm a bit confused about the crossover thing...you don't mean cross compete, right. World rules are not allowing people to cross compete...o compete on more than one team.
i think if CF put 42 ppl on the roster than they must have things planned out for substitutions you can only have 35 on the mat 42-12 thats 35 PLUS then ten substitutions makes sense seems like they found a loop hole to me
It seems that the smaller gyms have to be more creative to make a name for themselves. My hats off to a coach who wants to give the WORLDS experience to as many deserving kids as possible. Let's not be greedy. If a team qualifies, let them come.
Now that CA Panthers received paid bid from ACA who is in line for the @large bid from American Grand Las Vegas? From what I can tell here are the next teams in line (in no particular order):
Magic All-Stars Magic - Sr Sm
The Cheer Center All-Stars - Sr Lg
Georgia All-Stars Georgia All-Stars - Sr Ltd Cd
Nor Cal Elite Nor Cal Elite - Sr Unltd Cd

These were the next in each division that have not received a paid or @large bid to date.
Magic took 3rd in Sm Srs, Cheer Central took 3rd in Lrg Srs, Georgia took 2nd in Ltd Coed, and NCE was 4th in Unlimited Coed. So I would think that it would go to Georgia but that depends on the next highest score out of these 4 teams.

Agreed, I too think it will go to Georgia, The scores differential in small senior is to great compared to the coed division. Meaning that the third place coed team probably scored higher than the third place small senior team. Whoever gets it will be estatic. I wish everyone luck!
