No one gym swept all divisions they were in, although POWER came pretty close! Sometimes it takes a competition like this one to bring gyms back down to earth to get back to work before the next competition rolls around.

Who are you talking about? What team needs to be brought back down to earth? Really, only power sweeps, and they almost did again yesterday.
Oh, definitely was not talking about POWER, they dominate. I wasn't talking about any particular gym, I just mean that when you go against great competition like yesterday it gives you incentive to go back to work and keep improving your routines. I know our gym has been in that situation, where they sweep at one competition but get a rude awakening at another, and it makes us want to work harder.
I think it was a great day. I really enjoyed the following teams: Pyramids Coed 3, AP Youth 3, Motions Coed 5, and NCE Senior 3. I did not see all teams so I am sure that there were others that were great too. I am from Power and by no means do we expect to sweep anytime. We know that the valley has steep comptition and has fabulous teams. If fact, my teams did not do that great and we have ALOT of work to do before we compete again. I was impressed with our Junior 3 and junior 5 ( girls you ROCKED- keep working hard) and also our small senior 4. I hope everyone has a great holdiay season.
Give who a break? The posts said they were so awesome they pretty much swept their divisions, all but one. Gives us ALL something to work towards, it's great.
There was a team in the morning (can't remember which team) that did a pyramid that had girls going right over the heads at 2 person high. Is that legal? I've seen them go over arms, shoulders, but if it is straight over the head I thought that was illegal. Does anyone else remember this team or section of their routine? I thought it looked awesome, but my first reaction was..."Is that legal?"
NCE small senior 5 does that. She "leap frogs" over a half. Yes its legal, its the same thing as a fliping pyramid or something that 'passes through' at two people high, this time there is just someone standing under her.
Hey, I had a great time watching everyone.......I really think all the teams are helping take cheer to the next level in our area. There were teams that had some stunts that were exciting to watch. I was entertained and enjoyed seeing what new stunt the next team would come up with. Competition is great. Please also keep in mind that the friendships we make along the way are GOLDEN. We have a great opportunity to teach these kids to be great leaders with good values. Thank you all..
I though all the teams at GSSA were fantastic...but I don't see how Motions beat Nor Cal? Both teams were amazing and entertaining, but as far as technicalities go...Motions had a lot of touches. A LOT.
I think yesterdays competition was great overall. All of the teams did a great job. I wasn't pleased with some of the results. I think that NCE Sr. Coed 5 did a better job than Motions. They has a shakey beginning, buy they had more fulls and more difficulty. CO did an AWESOME job in Youth Lv 3. They should have won that divison. Again everyone did awesome! Can't wait to see Northern Cali and Sol Cal teams compete against each other at state.
Motions was over all cleaner, even with their touchdowns. Nor Cal was more entertaining and I think more difficulty, but did drop stunts and have some tumbling busts. I think the placements for this comp was correct. Motions could be more flashy (but I think that's not cheergyms style) and Nor Cal needs to continue cleaning up their routine. I think GSSA posts actual scores from their comps, it will be interesting to see what the judges actual numbers were.
