This would be a nice way to include all the gyms that might have members with level 5 skills on lower level teams. Maybe we can try to get email addresses for all the gyms we can find so that they're in on it too? Many don't read this message board.
if this is to "Bring Cali Together" what about every cheerleader that won't make this team? What about gyms that dont have the talent to place someone on this team? They aren't getting represented so how are we "bringing cali together".
let's just be honest with each other...this isn't about cali coming together. it's about someone wanting to take advantage of all the talent in california and putting it on one team. i got nothing against that but let's not kid each other and say its about unity.
Thinking about all the details, I thought I read that everyone would be voting. Online voting? Just trying to think how that would work. Are you going to have favoritism towards certain teams.. I think that's unavoidable. If you have someone who is an awesome level 5 tumbler from a small gym, or even two or three, will they have a chance? Before people were seriously thinking about doing this, lists were already made up of candidates. You'd have to keep an open mind because there's probably talent out there you've never seen (if they haven't had a chance to showcase it). You know what I mean? Just more thoughts.
My goodness, it is to raise money for special needs teams. Can't we all just call it a good cause? Why does everything have to be about my team or that team. The gym that I go to does not have a single person listed as a prospective cheerleader, but I will be there to see the best of the best because they are doing it for someting that is close to my heart. I have a cousin who has Downs Syndrom, she would love to cheer however in our area none ot the gyms offers a special needs team. Take it for what it is worth and stop trying to put a negative spin on everything.
Life is not always fair, sometines you don't get picked for the team you want. Make the most of your time and talents and use them for good. Life truly is what you make it.
Who are you directing your post to? If it's me (also) I was just trying to go over the details, to make this something ANYONE can participate in (try out for I mean). Good cause or not, let's give everyone equal opportunity to be on this dream team.
It wouldn't be a "Dream Team" if they took just anybody. Sorry. Not being mean. But, think about the Allstar teams in other sports. They want the BEST.
Are you saying you can only find the best from gyms who read this message board? Or gyms that have level 5 teams? I think they're just saying there are individuals who would be perfectly capable and would add to the team if you gave them a chance. Of course they need to have the skills, nobody is saying that, but why not widen the search, open up the opportunity to others. I know of a gym that doesn't have a level 5 team because only five girls have fulls. But they're pretty talented girls and I know they'd do great. I'm sure I'm not the only one who can think of other gyms in the same boat. Let's spread the word, I'm sure owners know of other owners who would be interested. Plus, you get the added bonus of increasing the people who will come to support the team and the cause.
I'll say it again, I got no problem with this "Dream Team" but let's not kid each other and say that it's about bringing cali together or for a cause. It's about someone wanting to take the best talent in california and form a team with them. If that's what it is, then let's call it that. Let's not pretend that its about unity, bringing california together, a fundraiser for special needs teams, etc. It's about wanting to field a team of 35 of the best cheerleaders in california.

No it was not directed to you. I was directing it to Anonymous,
That person said- let's just be honest with each other...this isn't about cali coming together. it's about someone wanting to take advantage of all the talent in california and putting it on one team. i got nothing against that but let's not kid each other and say its about unity.
-BTW I have my favorites too... me, my bestfriend, and the rest of my squad. Do I think that is reasonable? No, am I going to complain because 5 girls from Power might make it? NO. WHY? Because it is for a cause, not a title, trophy, scholorship, free tuitition, or anything we work so hard for all season. That is just my opiniom. With that being said, Good Night all!!! And I hope that I didn't offend anyone.

Exactly what is there to get over? I never said I was against it. I still am not against it. I wont be against it if it ever happens. All I'm saying is don't sugar coat it, call it what it really is.
It's someone trying to pick 35 of the best cheerleaders in the state of california and trying to form a team with them.
It is not about bringing california together (if so, how do you include those teams that won't have a representative on the team).
It is not about fundraising for a special needs team (do we really need a team like this to fundraise for special needs? and how does forming this team actually raise funds for special needs? I'll agree on it bringing about awareness, but don't try to sugar coat what this team is really about. And how are you going to bring about awareness? By intimidating the heck out of everyone?).
Ok you have to be the most narrrow minded person ever. I was going to stay out of this, but no. After reading these posts I'm amazed at the ignorance. This is about raising money for special need teams. What would be the point of putting together a team that's not made to compete for trophies or titles. It is not like they are taking them to worlds or competitions. It is just for fun and to raise money for a good cause. It is easy to raise the money. Many people would come just because it is for special needs kids. All they have to do is put some entertainment up and end the day with two mind blowing routines. They will raise plenty of money. You don't need to try out for this team. If you feel the need to down talk people who want to have fun then don't try out or don't let your kid try out. My kid is making his video tomorrow to submit. If he makes good job, if he doesn't oo well. My son is not from a big name gym, but he has a double and quite a bit more. I don't see why people feel the need to complain about everything.
I will do my part to share this information with a couple smaller gyms I know of. I'm jotting down the information. Can others do the same? I haven't seen anyone else say they will step up and spread the word.
If this doesn't fly (no pun intended) for whatever reason, at least right now we are raising awareness and we don't all really need a team to go see to donate money, right?
This topic started out as if you could make a dream team who would be on it. Then it went to making a team to raise funds and awarness for special needs teams. Why not field a team with special needs kids? If that's what this is about then why not them?
That thought came to my mind too, why not give folks a chance to see what the money would go towards. I've seen how happy it makes them to get out there and wow the crowd, it's heartwarming. Good idea Oh.
While everyone is fighting with each other, this little boy will pass away unless he gets a bone marrow transplant real soon. He was a member of the Glacierz last season and is unable to continue now. He always says "My team My team" . It was a huge joy for him and all of us to watch him. His donor just backed out and now if he doesnt find one real soon he will pass. So I was thinking it would be great if there was an organization that could help him. To test a possible bone marrow donor it is over $100 and his blood type being rare it is very hard to find a perfect match. This is real hard for most families with special needs kids.
Also the 8 yr old cheerleader with Severe Cancer that is on the boards could use some Help now also .So can we all stop fighting and start HELPING........ Thank you .......
I agree we should all help whenever we can. Don't see any fighting on this thread -- just because someone disagrees it's not fighting. You want to see fighting, check out some other threads, this is a tea party in comparison.
But yea, the message of let's all help out should be 24/7.
