Just a heads up that you won't be alble to view your team photographs on the Universal Event Photography web page, you will get an error 'UNABLE TO FIND PHOTOS'. I sent a message to them asking if this was going to be fixed and got the following reply.
Subject: Re: Error when trying to view photos from 11/11/06 American Championships in San Jose Ca.
Good Morning,
Unfortunately those photos will not be online. The only way to order photos now would be to reorder photos you have already ordered. Order a team photo (if they took one). If you have the photo numbers of the photos you would like to purchase you can order them that way. You can also order a sheet of thumbnails. The thumbnails are like a contact sheet of the photos of your routine. They cost $25 dollars per routine, but half of that amount ($12.50) goes towards a credit for any photos you order. We mail the thumbnails out to you with an order form which you can mail back or fax to our office. If you are interested in purchasing the sheet of thumbnails please email me back your name, address, daytime telephone number, the name of the event, the city it was held in, the date it took place, the full name of your squad, and your division. I will get back to you to obtain your credit card information.
Wow, they did the EXACT same thing at American Showcase in Anaheim ... if you didn't order pictures there at the competition you were out of luck. There really is no excuse for this, it's a way for them to force you to buy pictures there. Call and complain.. I'm going to.
It doesn't really matter why. It's their policy and how THEY do their business, bottom line. Unfortunately every company is different. Take a note and make sure to view and or order them at the next comp where they are photographing.
Maybe they should change to RT productions or another company that you can view online. I hate waiting behind a billion people just to look. It takes to long when you can do it at your own home.
To Well, it would be easy to shrug it off and say too bad, that's how this company handles it. There are better ways to handle this though. Complain to the competition company, complain to the photography company, and the one that will work the best... don't buy any of their pictures. We'll be going to plenty of competitions and we'll have plenty of other opportunities to purchase pictures we can view online. We'll pass on their $25 thumbnail sheets, thank you.

I agree COMPLETELY. Seriously competition companies have been around long enough to know what works and what doesn't as far as photographers, seating, awards, and venues. It's not anything brand new, so they should work a little bit more on those things. Especially at these 2 day events where it cost you between $50-$100 to register.
