i heard wrote: Hey I heard CF had two boys doing individuals did they go to this comp. I know one if on diamondz who is supposed to be a good tumbler and the other is on one of their other teams also supposed to be a good tumbler.
They weren't at this comp or I would of seen them. The boy from diamondz would have to be Anthony. He is a pretty good tumbler. Last year he threw punch front whip through to double, but nothing spectacular so I don't know how good his routine will be. Atleast he is throwing a double though.
The other boy I have no idea who else it could be. They really don't have a lot of boys from what I could see last year. Sorry, but can't shine any light on this person.
a guy from rockiez and anthony. and i can tell you guys anthony's tumbling is fierce this year. i dont know how he will do at comp, but he is pretty good.
I was at the san francisco comp and I saw two guys on Diamondz with doubles. Is he the one that threw the whip punch full punch arabian round off handspring double? Because if that's him, damn I can't wait to see his tumbling because I thought that pass was amazing.
Thank you guys. I wouldn't get your hopes up though. I may have tumbling, but I still lack the other skills. My jumps aren't there yet and let me tell ya I'm one of those white guys who "CAN'T DANCE" lol. Tumbling isn't everything that makes a routine good, but I'm looking forward to getting on stage all by myself for once.
My kid is on two teams because she loves to cheer! Lets face it...we spend hours at a competition, 2 teams makes it more fun. There's nothing morally wrong with being on two teams if we follow the rules. Don't be so judgemental.
I saw all of the solo's from the CF kids at the GSSA comp. From what I saw I think they will sweep every comp they compete at. From the youngest to the oldest they have the most talented solo's from top to bottom. Iam not from CF- Just being honest.
CF is talented...But I think alot of gyms frown on having their kids do individuals. I know at gyms my family has been to they were no happy if you decided you wanted to do individuals.

why is it frowned upon to do an individual. I can see not wanting to let a kid do one if they weren't up to par or something, but it's a good way for a kid to get on stage all by themselves. I personally love it when people do individuals because I can see that persons skill not their team skill.
The reason ALOT of gyms do not let the kids do individuals is because they want the cheerleader to concentrate on the phrase "There is no I in team" Coaches want the kids to focus on the team doing well, not the kids individually. If they are doing individuals, 100% effort will not be on the teams performance, some of the effort will go towards the individual performance.
We allow our kids to do individuals, but the team is the most important. I do not choreograph individuals until their teams routine is finished and their team is ready to compete. If the child can not fufill the requirements made by our gym they do not compete individuals.
But how do you decide who gets to do the solos? I'm glad our gym doesn't allow it, because as the other post said, we are all a team (no "I" in team). I wouldn't want our bases and flyers concentrating on anything except our routine. It sounds like opinions are definitely split on this one.
If these other gyms had the talent CF has from the very youngest to the oldest they would be doing individuals. Not many gyms in the US can hang with CF across the board.
We have certain requirements per age group. For Example : 10 -11 year olds need at a least a full and jump combo into tucks and 3 bhs to full. The requirements grow as the kids get older. Once you give those requirements out then the kids that express interest are usually strong enough to do individuals. At least that is what works best for us.
I dont know what the requirements are for CF solo's but if little kids are throwing double fulls all over the floor it must be tough. From what I've seen no gym has better solo's than CF.
