Just a friendly reminder to all parents, athletes, and mostly gym owners!!!!
Now that a new competition season is just about in full swing, please take a minute to ask your parents & ATHLETES to please be respectful of other teams while they're perfoming!! Getting up and down from their seats, during performances is inexcusable!!!!!!!!!!!! Wait for a break in between teams, PLEASE!!! We all work so hard, pay alot of $$$$$$$$$ to train our kids, and travel to different competitions all over the U.S!!! We don't want to dodge and weave around you to see the stage!! REALLY!!! Unfortunately, these little things are over looked from year to year, and truly thery aren't so LITTLE!!! Other clubs will notice your courtesy and look at your whole organization with more RESPECT!! MUCH THANKS!!!!
Yes, thank you for posting that. I cannot stand it when people stand up right in front of you, while you're watching a performance. People, you can stay in your seat for 2 1/2 minutes while someone is performing! Get up and walk around in-between performances. It's common courtesy.
Some competitions allow videotaping. My videotaping was completely ruined because of rude folks walking right in front of my camera during performances. Grrrrr
Tell me about it. We went to a SOS competition (great concept btw) and they were giving out an award for sportsmanship that all of the teams voted on. One gym was handing out stuff to the other teams and really going out of their way to be nice to everyone. They won the award. Unfortunately, the award was given out before the competition was completely finished.
While one of our teams was performing, about 2 rows worth of their girls showed up to retrieve their bags off their seats. People were asking them to wait until the end of the performance to no avail. They stood in the row, walked in the row and basically blocked our view of our team performing. So much for the "Sportsmanship Award."
The competition companies need to announce this, and repeat it often. It's the only way to remind people. Common sense/common courtesy doesn't work, unfortunately.
AT the UCLA competition yesterday, I asked a coach from Cheer Excel (Vegas) if she could scoot over so I could take a team photo, and she looked me up and down and stood there. I said, "I'm so sorry, it will be super quick, I promise!" She replied,'WHATEVER!" and moved a 1/2 a foot. I couldn't believe it!!!! She was soooooooo incredibly rude to me!!! And I swear to you, I asked sooooo nice and smiled at her!!!!!

I totally agree!! People can be so rude! We're there for the kids!! We need to set an example to our children so that they don't treat other people this way!! We need to teach our children not to be disrespectful to adults and other children. Even if their from a different team. I tell my girls when another team is on performing to give them respect that they would want. Clap when they do well and if they mess up don't laugh or clap!! So parent's out there please lets try and give everyone some respect as we would like to be treated. Other wise there's just going to be more fights like what happened at the AB comp last weekend. That was terrible to fight in front of children I mean come on!!! GROW UP!!!

What happened last weekend? A fight in the middle of competition?
