Just curious. How come when the NCE boys went to CA, they just went. But, when boys come to NCE they're recruited? I personally don't agree with the changing of teams mid season, but hey, if its good for the goose, its good for the gander.
that is what happened. Are you implying that "the boys that went to CA" were recruited? Ummm negative. Read the post from their own Mother stating all of the facts about the change in teams. Question... what does one have to do with the other? Nothing.
Nobody said NCE was recruiting, I think people are doing alot of misinterpretation on this subject. Maybe when they commented to the person that they should be on their team it was just pride.

No, I'm saying that why can't it be that the kids joined NCE of their own accord, just like the kids that left NCE to go to CA did? Why spin it one way for one situation and spin it another for the other. I'm not implying either gym recruited anyone.
Ok, this is how it is. The 3 gyms merged because CE wanted to not have competition in their same city, PH owners got tired of the business side and wanted out and Hanford United wanted to get bigger and reached their limit in Hanford. So CE bought PH and HU joined with CE. All the owners are working there but the PH owners really aren't as active as they were when it was their own gym and people are saying they won't be back next year, partly because they are doing other things now and need some time off of cheer, they got burnt out. They don't have a co-ed team because it wasn't working out, the girls were so much better as an all-girl, I mean some guys could not even do a backhand spring and you have girls who are doing fulls, so anyways they ditched the boys, I don't know about where they went or anything oh yeah and some of the guys well 1 in particular was a bad guy, he lied and did bad things and they gave him chances but he just didn't get better. They are better off without the boys this year. With the three gyms coming together they had a great chance of being number one but most of the PH kids have left because they don't like it so the teams are not as good without those girls but I'm sure they will get better as the year goes on but really sad for the PH kids because now they are not cheering. I think the merge seemed like a good idea but there was a reason why you had PH and CE putting them together takes away the competition within your own city and no matter how great Nationals is there is nothing better then competiting againist teams in your city. They don't have one soccer team for each city, they have tons, but anyways that's what I know hope it clears up the gossip.
I was not saying that NCE was starting rumors I simply replied to what he wrote "I heard" that means that information was going around that was not true...a rumor. I wasn't being "smart" just giving facts. We are extremely excited for this year and as someone else stated the first year of a new gym has its share of changes. Good luck to all.
To truth...PH owners are coming back next year and there are quite a few PH people still there. As any gym knows each year there is turnover even at very sucessful gyms. The merge has gone extremely well and all the kids, coaches, parents have adjusted great. One of the things to remember is that these kids have never cheered TOGETHER unlike teams that have been cheering for several years and the teams have meshed....these kids are doing an outstanding job learning each other different coaching styles and tons of other things. The reason for not having competition in the same town is that in this town the high schools are also competitive in cheerleading and unfortunately discourge girls from doing both all star and school cheer so basically the talent pool is spread thin so for this community it was the idea to merge.

I would like to see Athletic Perfection, Cheer Odyssey, Power and Starstruck merge. They would be unstoppable.
yeah right wrote: POWER would never merge with those teams. Let alone emrge at all..they already have 2 locations and a bunch of athletes.
That is OK, because as much as I enjoy watching POWER and think their parents are great too, I don't want to be a part of their gym. I like mine, if I wanted to go to any of the other mentioned teams... I could just drive 15 min the other way I drive now. I love compeating against all of them. Please stop acting like POWER is the ALPHA team in our area, they are good but not all of us want to be them. No offence POWER.
I dont get that whole "POWER CRAZE" .. Ive seen better. Basically its all smoke and mirrors and I've heard that their coaches tend to take the competition a little too serious. Remember, the sport is for the girls--the athletes!
can we please not wanna merge all the nor cal teams together
i think its so much cooler when you have kids who grow up in your gym and turn into awesome level 5 athletes than having a bunch of gymnasts and boys just join the team. powers an expample of that. all their level 4 girls push it so much cuz they know they wanna be on 5.
but yea we need different teams not a bunch of kids thrown together. cuz as we have seen ahmen (encore) it dosnt always turn out to be "everything people were hoping for"

hhahahahahha. You worded that perfect! I love the gym I'm at now! No THANKS, I'll pass on POWER!
i agree, im not a fan of merges. My area has atleast 8 gyms within an hour radius and having competition in your area makes competitions so much more fun. Regionals are always more exciting with alot of talent coming out from many different coaches as opposed to seeing the same thing over and over again.
Every gym, from small to large, to new and well established has something to offer. Each provides a different experience, and regardless what anyone says is objective for the family who chooses to be a part of it. I feel that no gym is "better," just "better" for them. Winning and/or being successful is the ultimate goal, but behind it is family, business, and long lasting relationships with people that will shape you and your families life.
Having many gyms as opposed to a few allows for atheletes to find a gym that fits them. Somewhere where they can grow as an athelete and as a person. Moreover, a commitment to a gym is not just for the cheerleader, but for the family who decides to commit to taking their athelete to and from practices and competitions as well as supporting them within the gym.
In end, I love that we have many gyms in my area. Merges are cool and can be productive, but what is the cost? Plus im sure uniform police loves having more clients as opposed to one. lol.
I can see where you are coming from but what about those little teams that maybe have one or two small teams that are consistently level 2 and 3 every year and never get better. Why wouldn't they want to merge with the more successful teams in the area?
I just would think that yes they probably want their own thing but i would rather be involved in a program that is thriving not just getting by.

I agree with this 100% because there are limited amount of dedicated coaches in every area. There are tons of people that know about cheerleading and love the sport, but limited amount of people who establish their lives for it and when you put all those people under one roof, then its better for the kid and parents. Merging with other gyms brings out more talented coaches, kids and a larger marketing pool. Also you will be more prone to attend the larger competitions from year to year. I am a gym owner and wouldn't oppose a merger with the right people.
