It's sad to see that people are attacking and being so judgemental about one team's uniforms all of the sudden just because their look received a compliment by a uniform/fashion critic. The funny (and kind of sad) thing is that most of these comments are coming from cheer moms rather than the actual cheerleaders. But then again, isn't that where most criticism and judgement comes from in the cheer world anyways?
I don't think anyone was attacking anyone. Just putting out ones opinions.... just like you. One of the Mom's even said her kids were large. Get off your high horse., it's not like a specific person was pinpointed out as being "that big girl". To be quite honest, till this post I had never even heard of that team. I will say that after looking at their new uniforms, their little girls looked really cute. The older team, someone should have used a little bit better judgement. But that is my opinion and yes, I AM a cheermom! Good Luck to everyone.... cute uniforms or not.
Ultimate's uniforms are similar those on the cover/page 54 of the Spirit Innovations catalog.
The uniforms are awesome and very much what you see on the east coast/south in all star cheer. The west coast is starting to have a few big names emerge and become competitive outside of CA. It does seem that compared to the east, west coast is still several years behind.
U of L wore their hideous conservative uniforms to NCA College Nationals.
And did they win? You bet!
And as far as competing in shorts and a t-shirt, I would love to. At least it's comfortable!!!

NCA college nationals is getting as boring as UCA. Yes U of L did well and won, but not like they used to be.Yes they won, but alot of teams win but that doesn't mean their appealing to everyone in the crowd. Just like Cheer Athletics, they are good, but rather watch a Top Gun routine over them just due to style.
Hey everyone, I would love your honest opinion of our new uniforms! I posted some pics on our site of our showcase and we just got our uniforms this last week. What do you guys think??? I like them myself but I think the short/spankies are the best. I think my only problem with them is that the skirt spins. I may have to fix that one...
The ones on the home page are last years. This years are on the showcase tab under PHOTOS.
Hmmm...are the uniforms very similar to last years? I really had to study the images to figure out what was different. I do like them but don't see a huge difference. I think I saw one photo that had blue shorts/spankies? I like those.
Yes, the differences are slight but there are differences when you see the two together. the blue is lighter and is the shimmer material. The arms have white with blue on top and black when they raise their arms. We changed from briefs to shorts of the same shimmer material as the uniform. The necklines are Vneck this year and were the sweetheart neckline. There's a lot more shimmer this year. The only "flat" is the black.
I know it sounds silly, but with all the talk about uniforms, I was just curious of everyones opinions. No one has to like them. I just love to hear what people think!
Yes, love the shimmer additions and the shorts. I think it will match the shimmer eye shadow the girls usually wear. I can't wait to see these on stage to see how they look. small changes like where the color changes are on the arms make a difference during the performance when arms are up or down. I like those types of differences. And I thought the blue was lighter but wasn't sure. Again, I think that will be a nice change.
i like the sleeves and the spankies, i dont really like the design on the front but i love the metallic material, they have just enough, not too much not too little
Overall I really like em. I like the old logo on front though. It bugs me that "All Stars" in written in the cheergyms.com font. Not that they OWN that font or anything....just bugs :)
Is it the same as the cheergyms font?? Hey! I LIKE THAT THEN!!! hehehehehehe Now it's special!
The OC on the front is kinda big but since it's only 2 letters, you really couldn't see it otherwise. We got rid of the swooshes but 1/2 of us like that and 1/2 don't.
Yes, they are wearing glimmer eyeshadow. Blue on the bottom, and opaque on the top. We wear more makeup than some but it's a lot less this year than last. But we still do the red red lips. It looks good from far away. (up close, yikes!!! hehehe)
Our youth teams are doing braids now. Not the twin piggies. Only the tiny's do the twin piggies. The older teams do the half up or ponies.... each team got to decide. All I can say is thank GOD cause I don't have to curl hair this year. As a matter of fact, I don't have to do ANYTHING this year! My daughter can do her own makeup and hair FINALLY!!!!! 7 years and I am finally FREEEEEEEEE..... One year, Nikki had us doing different hair styles till she decided on the scrunch! I think I did 3 years of hair in one season!!!
Thanks for your opinions!!! Our first comp is the 18 with GSSA. All of our teams compete. We are excited!!
I just looked at ultimate all stars uniforms on the rt productions website... whats the big deal? Its cute but I had to look on the website to remember who they were, I remembered the striped uniform the dance team wore was cute but I didn't think the cheer uniform was the hottest, newest, coolest uniform ever...
I love the Pyramids uniform, its classic, its not too busy looking, and while I wasn't so hot on it when I first saw it, it looks great on the floor, their motions look great with all the color divisions in the arms and shoulders, they look sharp and our Lenny on the uniform is AWESOME... so there.. haha.
I'll admit it, I see my daughter look at the glittery uniforms and makeup and I know she'd love her uniform even more if there was a little more bling to it but to call our kids uniforms "amish" is ridiculous. We have a great uniform, and everyone knows who we are and the coaches vision is to prepare each team to do their very best every time. I'm very proud my daughter is from the cheergyms program.
This will be my last posting on this section of the web board. Due to popular response, please check out my new posting regarding cheer fashion from the American State Cheer and Dance Championships in San Jose 11/11-11/12.
OC All-Stars: I have to give you props! The overall look and length adheres to the popular all-star fashion characteristic of today's modern teams! Spirit Innovations did a good job!
If I had to nit-pick (and you asked for critique) I'd have to say that the hem of the top and the waist of the skirt needs some interest, maybe some striping? Also, as previously mentioned by another poster, the letters OC are a little too big. Lastly, a smaller striping choice would be more flattering so that it doesn't overpower the uniform itself.
Kudos to you for not using sequins on this year's uniforms! Sequins originated on dance/colorguard outfits and have recently been infused into the cheer scene. The point was to bing more glitz and bling to the uniforms, however, the fashion trend specifically for cheerleading (all-star) has been to achieve this look using metallic striping and rhinestones.
THANKS FOR YOUR HONESTY! Quite refreshing, if say so myself. I agree with the letters on the front. We call it "the shield" in our house. Should someone throw something, the kids are well protected!!!
As for the skirt, I am glad that there isn't striping on the top 'cause I have to take it in this week, so that's less $$$ for me.
Ok, I'm off to your new post. Thanks for being honest and insightful withouth being mean. Keep up the great work. It's very appreciated!
