Yea, I agree with that too. There's a difference between too much skin and plain and ugly uniforms. We don't all have to agree here since we all have different likes and dislikes, but crops are my favs. I find Motions uniforms way too plain for my taste. But that's only me. I don't make the decisions and don't judge. So I really don't matter.....
The crops looked good at Jamz, and not to be negative but I also found the Motions uniform to be way too plain. I can't even remember what the colors were, they didn't stand out at all. The team (level 5) sure did though!

I'm a little confused. What made the Level 5 team stand out?
Motions level 5 team stood out in a very good way, they were creative and entertaining; I really enjoyed their routine. Sorry I wasn't clear. I just thought the uniforms did not stand out.
I didn't say you're NOT ALLOWED to wear half tops and what not, I simply stated that there is a new rule about appearance and too much skin. And, my belief is, that its just a matter of time before that influence trickles down to All-Star cheer. Thats all.
The point I was making was this: Who cares what the uniform on the body looks like. Like you said.. U of L looked HORRIBLE to fasion critics, but, as usual, looked amazing on the floor! Proving, that at a good competition, the uniform doesn't matter. The routine does.
Eeew. You can compete in shorts and a tshirt with straight ponytails and no make-up, I vote for a cute uniform. Either way, none of the teams here have what it takes to top Cheer Athletics, CA Allstars, or Top Gun, regardless of what they wear. I don't think this topic was meant to say that the uniform you wear will make or break you, but rather say that top level teams have a certain look to them that give them a noticeable edge.
Also, Amac, I've done the college thing for 3 years now after cheering since jr. high on both school and allstar teams, after being a gymnast all my life. I have my standing full, series to double, toss full up and rewind up to any stunt, and 6 UCA / NCA titles to boot. So after you get a little more experience under your belt, and know the rules a little better, like Actually does, it's probably not wise to make these observations. The statement that HPU lost points for uniform issues is purely rumor and speculation that, for the record, is not true. I would know. *wink*
And though I'll admit that the Cheergyms look is cute, the theme and overall design hasn't changed for years. Maybe you're right though, the Cheergyms staff may be innovative beyond their years, but I have yet to see their ideas in action with other teams. Maybe in 20 years we'll see a trend grow where we'll all wear full length sweaters with splotches of color, until then, gimme my midriff top, v skirt, glitter makeup, cheer shoes, and hair bow; and get outa my way, there're titles to be won! LOL Rock on, fellow allstars! Cheer hard!

Hahahaha....you go girl!!!! You wear that bulky sweater with the color blotches with pride, sister! And cheer your heart out while you and your team dream of winning regionals. The rest of us are gonna find something cute to wear and head to Worlds. Ummmm, I think the UL uniforms were OK, not ugly, that's for sure. I don't think the person who started this blog meant that midriffs were the only thing that mattered, I think it's about achieveing an overall look, one that some teams *cough cough* don't have.
OK so I went to the photos to see all the fuss about Ultimate All Stars uniforms. Police are you kidding me? I was not there in person and unless the pictures really do not do the uniforms justice.... they looked..well.... not very good. They were not at all flattering and even in the pictures... you could see the girls extra pounds. Now dont get me wrong, one of my girls is on the thick side and i for sure am not a size 5, but you could see some of the girls "back fat" and "tummy rolls" hanging out. Cutting edge is one thing... making your girls look bad is just wrong. As a parent I would be less than thrilled to see my daughters in that uniform. Cheers to the grils with the confidence to bring it... Jeers th the designer thought it was a good idea to put that uniform on them.
I am glad that someone else also feels that way about ultimate's uniforms I was looking at them and going What is so special ? Not much material was used it looks like Good to know another person feels the same
I don't think those college teams have influence at all. To be honest who cares what U of L and UK does and wear. The all star market is so beyond those teams, that it's fantastic. We have our own nationals and there are even uniform companies that cater specifically to all stars. I think open teams are going to get more popular if prices are kept reasonable.
i think this WHOLE topic is dumb. because really, uniforms are a personal taste. diffrent to everyone. some people are going to like some, and others aren't. so there's no reason to sit here and debate which ones are better , because of this, this and this. and vise versa.

Umm, the design is hot, two thumbs up! How some of the girls looked in them is a topic for another post "Who's got chunky girls"? Rarely will you see a team that has 100% of their girls who are able to pull off midriffs, however, I don't think that having a few overweight members is reason enough to not wear midriffs.

It's sad to see that people are attacking and being so judgemental about one team's uniforms all of the sudden just because their look received a compliment by a uniform/fashion critic. The funny (and kind of sad) thing is that most of these comments are coming from cheer moms rather than the actual cheerleaders. But then again, isn't that where most criticism and judgement comes from in the cheer world anyways?
