I'm guilty as charged-- I'm becoming a cheer spectator and following all the advanced teams at the compeititons I can attend, and I know I'm not the only one. My friends and I have been doing this, and it happened to us this weekend too. I'm even planning on going to Sacramento three weekends in a row to see the advanced teams and see who's going to make it to worlds...
Is this kinda sneaky? Or do I carry a guilty conscience?
I dont want this to turn into a fiesty topic- lets keep it clean.
I don't think there's anything wrong with it. I've actually thought about going to competitions we aren't attending, such as Six Flags. No, I won't go out of my local area, but that's cuz I'm a parent and have to take care of other people's schedule and not just my own - otherwise, I might ;).
OK, I think it is OK to attend other competitions and check out fellow competitors, I am just wondering...Does anyone think it crosses a line when someone actually attends the practice of another team besides your own when that team will be in competition with your own. There are things that happen at practice that is only the business of that team. Just curious what everyones opinion is.
If it's just a random person showing up then I guess that could be little awkward.
However, I know that several times kids from another gym comes with their friend (from our gym) to the practice at our gym, and it doesn't raise any eyebrows.
Ok, I can't even watch my daughter's practice except the last 15 minutes much less some random person or one of her friends! Our practices are closed to EVERYONE until the last 15 minutes. Now as for going to watch other teams comps that you are not attending -- I say if you have the time, money, and the transportation then go for it! Nothing is better than seeing teams live to see how good they are!
This weekend is POWER, next weekend is AB, and the weekend after I'm going with my friend to watch her dance team, I'm not sure what its called or who's going to be there though.
