Just my observation, but I found a couple of the Pyramids routines too simple. Lots of straight arm motions, but nothing creative. Simple stunts. Don't know if that's why they were "robbed", but I wasn't impressed. Not all their routines, just a couple. I was impressed with the higher levels.
Well, I still think they deserved 1st in Jr. Coed, even with the falls. The other team had lots of BAD technique in their technical skills and just didn't have smooth transitions. I don't think Jamz places teams in the right order at all.
I think Jamz follows judging closer to other respected competitions. If you think your teams didn't place in the right order, I'm sure they'll do fine at GSSA, don't worry.
I agree that the Pyramids Junior Coed team deserved to win. They did have falls but their tumbling was so good and their stunts were way more difficult than SWAT. Would be curious to see score sheets????
I am from CG and I don't believe Pyramids was robbed. That's not to say I don't think they performed well, but they weren't quite what I was used to seeing from Pyrmaids. SWAT even won the main award, so they are obviously really good.
I also don't think our Jr. Coed was robbed. They did not perform up to their capabilities and need to know it. If you win when you know you didn't do well then you won't try as hard to do better next time. They are an awesome team and with some more hard work they will show everyone what they have and that they deserve to win. Work hard this week kids and do it again this weekend!!
To "too simple", we tend to start the season somewhat simple to do a clean routine that the whole team is capable of doing and adding in more creativity and difficulty as the season progresses and the teams progress. I would rather see a clean, crisp routine done without errors than a messy, hard routine with falls and touchdowns at competition. Some of our teams did what they could handle right now and did it very well and won, and some tried too much and didn't. It's early, and we will keep getting better every comp!
One more issue on videotaping that I didn't think was mentioned (sorry if I missed it) ... my daughter is in the warmup area while her competition is performing, so she does not get to see it. I tape it for her. I certainly hope those gyms aren't thinking I'm taping to steal any of their routines, lol.
Isnt it kind of late to be "stealing" routines anyway? If your kids can't hit something, how can you "steal" it? Wow, we are doing heel stretches. Hope no one "steals" that idea!!!!
You know ya'll...if you guys recall it's a free country and as long as you're not doing harm to others....why not!!!
Some people just need to GET THE *BEEP* OVER IT! and stop being 5 year olds crying over pointless *BEEP*!!!!!!
If you think people are actually "stealing" your *BEEP*... then by all means when you actually see it on the floor then speak up, but if you're just creating commotion like the person who felt "disgusted"....GAWD talk about draaaaaaaaaaaaamaaaaaaa!!!! THEN KNOCK IT OFF!!!!! HAHAHA That person needs to get a life...how about we use our message boards to have fun and communicate instead of starting senseless *BEEP*BEEP* just for fun!
Anyhow just thought I'd throw my two cents in.... have a great one ya'll!

I thought alot of teams had creative routines, but not sharp or clean. Another thing I see is lack of performance, other than cheergyms.com teams. People just run through the routines like they are at practice, October or not. Just overall impression counts alot. It makes your technical skills look stronger.
As for Jamz, I feel if this was an Americas Best, American Championships, Cheersport, or NCA style of event, then alot teams would of placed different. Yes, teams like SWAt tried kick doubles and all of that, but their routines were sloppy, jumps were low, and just routines didn't flow. The team aspect and how many of what should account for alot also.
Yeah, the creative routines were not clean, and the clean routines were not creative. You can only take so much of the very clean but robotic movements before wanting to fall asleep, but that's what some judges like. I do think Jamz seems to have a nice mixture where they reward both. It all evens out. Over the weeks ahead, I'm guessing the creative routines will clean it up, and the not so creative will add a little more spice, or something.
Pyramids, motions, swat, starstruck, royals,. Who is UCF did they come to this competition or another one. I was at the competition but did not see any ucf. I score them as a mom and never had them in the top divisions... for anything. wow. i really missed this one

Onto UCF...they are United Cheer Force. They've always been a decent team, probably just under the radar. Glad to see they've been busting booty to get above the rader. Good job.

It's not about being simple, but just overall impression. Seriously did you guys watch SWAT. They did kick doubles that didn't even fully kick or complete. They did round off fulls which were piked. Yes they did hard things, but was SLOPPY. Seriously Jamz did some bad judging and I don't think they are close to any other company at all. I wouldn't take a team back to their event if they were giving out 20,000.
By the way, if people want to call out program, then they need to look at Ultimate All Stars. Their routines were bits and pieces of many NCA style programs, including music. It looked like their coaches just took parts of 5 routines and put it together. It was pretty upsetting to see that, when they should have their own style.
