RE: Jamz Results

Which senior level 4 team are you asking about? If it's a cheergyms team you're wondering about, I believe 720 took 3rd.

Reading some of these posts, people may think it's petty to be talking about teams and their routines, criticizing them. But that is the beauty of a message board such as this one and whatisprox.com. It's good to hear what others think about your team, even if the words are not kind. You need to know what kind of impression your routines leave on others, it's the only way to know if you're on the right track, or what changes you need to make, what areas you need to focus on. I'm grateful there is an outlet to express opinions (keeping them constructive of course -- bashing for the sake of bashing is an entirely different issue and most of us know the difference).

Sorry I've seen em....

I don't think you saw them yesterday if you are saying that. There's a huge difference between the team last year and the team this year from what I can see. I know they lost a few girls over the summer but they don't look any worse for it. They're already much better now than they were at the end of last season. I thought their coed was awesome and I agree that with a little more work will be comparable to Power's level 4 last year. I don't think you can argue with a score in the 90s! We warmed up at the same time with them and I had a nice conversation with their coaches and they sounded really excited for the season to finally be starting. Hats off to them!

Believe it or not a lot of teams, strong teams get outside help with different sections of their routine. That includes, world cup, F5 and many other world bound teams. Its called competitive cheerleading for a reason. You want to be the most competitive in your division.

And to the person that said 'are you kidding me' when it comes to Divas, the post that you responded to was talking about level 4 not level 5. Cheer Divas is a strong program and contender in level 4.

I'm sorry didn't the message say the Cheer Divas Level 4 was at the same if not close to the same level as POWER Level 4? Did they or did they not preform yesterday? If they did were they in the top 5?

I think they were comparing Cheer Divas level 4 now to POWER's level 4 last year. We haven't seen POWER so far this year (have we?) so there's no direct comparison to make yet. Granted, Divas are coed and POWER was all girl so it's sort of comparing apples and oranges, but you can get their point.

Didn't see the post that had the results, thanks for posting them. To see who did not place you'll have to look at the schedule I guess.

Those are the full results of Sr. Level 3 all girl as they only gave out 4 placements and didn't say the 5th through 7th placements. They also did not give out scores for any teams. BTW, there was no "Grand Champion award" it was an Extreme award for large (5 or more teams) and small (2 to 4 teams) gyms. It included the dance teams and the Royal allstars won large and had two dance teams that did very well and Ultimate Allstars won small and also had dance teams that did well, so those dance and cheer scores were all used to come up with the average to win. It was not one team or score that decided it.

No need to apologize, my post probably came through while you were typing yours.

I can't believe I forgot the "Extreme Awards"

Sportsmanship - SWAT
Choreography (open only to dance) - Royal Sr Lvl 5 Funk
Stunt (open only to cheer) - Motions Sr Coed
Small Program (average score of top 2 scores) - Ultimate 89.5
Lg Program (average score of top 3 scores) - Royal 91.8

Oh! Here's the teams that performed, but didn't place....

Jr Lvl 2 (7 teams)
--------------------
Capital City Elite
EXTREME CHEER
Starstuck

Sr Coed Lvl 3 (4 teams)
---------------------------
Fierce Cheer Elite

Youth Lvl 1 (5 teams)
------------------------
Elite Beat
Ultimate

Sr Lvl 3 (7 teams)
---------------------
Cheer Divas
Gymstars Elite
University Cheer Force

Youth Lvl 2 (6 teams)
-------------------------
Rebels
SWAT

Sr Lvl 2 (4 teams)
---------------------
Pyramids

Sr Lvl 4 (4 teams)
---------------------
Cheer Xplosion

Then I had my brain fart, so I don't know. ;)

Thanks for all the kind and positive comments about our routines. We love them and so do the kids, and we were very pleased with our scores. None of our performances were our best to date, but I think factoring in some nerves we're comfortable with what we put on the floor yesterday. It's what you put on the floor that counts, and we all know what we need to do to get ready for next time.

Of course, endless thanks to Shawn for a pair of fantastically choreographed routines. You know we love you :) All we hope is that we do them the justice they deserve every time we hit the floor.

Again, thanks for all the encouraging comments both here and those we've received personally and we'll see you all at the next one!

On to "round two" (*ding ding*)!

posting scores

Why doesn't Jamz post scores I wonder? It would be nice to see how close some of the places were, and even for those who didn't place how close they were to being in the top whatever. Also teams that had no competition, it tells so much more than 1st place against nobody. I just wonder what their reasoning is because most comps are doing it these days.

Congrats to the winners yesterday, and to those who didn't do as well as you'd like, you have plenty of time to bounce right back.

How could you tell that they were taking video of different parts of the floor...what good would that do? You people are CRAZY! :)

BRING ON THE VIDEO CAMERAS!!!

I love to see those cameras...I hope that people learn something! AND I was a bit shocked to see some teams snatch stunt sections, motion AND jump sections for some Worlds teams. You gotta know that anyone who knows ANYTHING in the cheer world watched Worlds and knows what you're doing. Work it out people. Lets have Cali be known for innovation, not poorly recycling material.

Is it me or was Pyramids robbed in Jr. Coed and some other divisions. They were clearly better than other teams. I am not even part of cheergyms, but know they should of placed higher than the results showed. I am kinda shocked at the results.
