Okkkk, I've been to Stockton and Lodi, and if Tracy is basically the same..... (still laughing) it's NOT upscale. (lol) Sorry, but I've BEEN to the OC on vacation, and it's NOT even close to those places. Southern OC is landscaped on every single freakin corner. And I am NOT exaggerating. You can't drive a mile without seeing gardners. It's just nuts down there. They have lakes for every community that only residents can go to. Beaches, boats, canoes and more at each of these lakes. Some of the residential communities even have their own small waterparks! Just for residents! To compare Stockton or Lodi to the southnern part of OC is just ridiculous. And I don't even live there!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry OC, you don't need to look up anything. They are off their rockers. Your area is super super super super super nice. It's hard to imagine that there are other places that would be more expensive. Maybe it's cause your neighborhoods are not a day over 5 years or so old. And that's a another reason why there's been 3 TV shows based on that area. (yea, I looked it all up)
So what if people drive around with garbage labeled "juicy" or drive brand new cars. The kids down there get boob jobs as graduation presents! A new car? Are you kidding? That's a GIVEN once they get their license!!!! I was amazed at how it is. No wonder cheer is easy to pay for. No wonder the kids all sign up. Why not??? They can afford it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Um okay I live in Nor Cal and lets just say getting new car for your birthday is actually common. Boob jobs for graduation, common. Designer purse for your 12th birthday, common. A cell phone at 9 years old, common. It is not just the OC, it is also in Nor Cal.
Great lets see, 9 year old has all designer clothes have seen her in at least 5 different colored uggs, Motorola SLVR phone, 3 designer purses that I know of and a hummer limo ride with her and all her little friends for her birthday, plus she got to take 1 friend (all expenses paid by birthday girls parents on a trip to Jamaica howas that for a birthday
Thats insane. Her parents should have thier heads examined. My daughters last birthday I made the cake and ordered in pizza for a slumber party. They played games, stayed up all night and had a great time. She has a cell phone that she can only make local calls and use for emergencies. She is given an allowance if she does her chores and punished if she does'nt. She is expected to be courteous and polite to her elders. I have her in cheerleading not only because she loves it but because I feel it teaches her the value of working hard to obtain your goals. When she asks for things If I can I say yes but more then not I say no if I know I can't afford it. I know that she'll live and appreciate when I do say yes and not take it for granted. I think this makes for a level headed realistic kid who will grow up just fine one day.
Agree with Absurd, this keeping up with the Jones's and giving kids such elaborate things just because it's the thing to do these days and all their friends are spoiled too is just too much. It's gotten out of hand. These kids will be used to having luxurious gifts handed to them without any effort on their part. It will be a rude awakening when they're on their own (if they're ever on their own...)
Okay, that really has nothing to do with cheer, but I had to get it off my chest...
I don't think it's crazy to give a child ONE nice gift for a birthday or whatever. I think I'd rather get her a nice necklace or something than a pile of cheap clothes that will just wear out.
But the Louis Vuitton thing is just dumb. They're not even "in" anymore!
