Just because you may have gyms within an hour of your gym doesn't put you in the same boat as Cheerforce. But good luck to all of you ... and wouldn't it be something if one of the smaller gyms mentioned came out on top this year? Now that's a goal to work towards! I like rooting for the underdogs, what can I say.
I think people drive a long distance to cf, dispite there being closer gyms, for that exact reason. None of the other gyms are at the same level yet. I HOPE a few step up and put their cheerleading where their mouths are! It would be fun to see more local competition!!!
I don't know if anyone can remember past last season, but cf was in no way a "powerhouse" gym. They just really pushed themselves hard and it payed off! Anyone can do it if they put their minds to it.
I agree with that statement (anyone can do it if they put their minds to it). Quantity does not always equate to quality. It's a bit arrogant to rule out the small gyms that are in the vicinity of a large gym. People shouldn't assume the small gyms won't do well. I certainly never rule them out.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I still don't think CF is classified as a powerhouse. I think to be a true powerhouse you need multiple amazing teams not just one. CF is the underdog who took everyone by suprise with diamondz, but that's it. I still don't hear amazing stories of their other teams. This is just an opinion of mine, but a powerhouse is a gym that contains multiple of well known teams that do better then the majority.
Of course....just like anyone can do as well as Cheer Athletics if they put their minds to it right? Ehhh......I honestly think it's mainly about the coaching.
And whoever is speaking from CCT, just shutup, you guys suck and you'll never be good, you guys are a joke.........when you guys can actually hold up a stunt sequence and not fall on your faces in tumbling at competition, then maybe you can talk, stop trying to compare yourselves to the powerhouse gyms, because your not even CLOSE to being in the same category as these other gyms, enough said.
OK, so cf isn't a powerhouse gym...I thought this was a thread about so-cal gyms? By the definition givin here about what qualifies as a powerhouse gym, there aren't any within 3 to 5 hours. We are a LONG way from Texas! BUT..cf had a great year, and their younger teams did quite well. Only seniors go to worlds, right? And they did. Please cut them some slack, they are trying super hard and have a GREAT result from last year to show for it. No other team within, well, a long distance came close. Not even within MILES of them. Mavericks was GREAT as was cali allstars. SO WERE DIAMONDZ. At the end, they were the ONLY representation from cali that got a medal at worlds. That should count, don't you think? Instead of trying to put down the whole program whenever the "good" team gets mentioned, why not give credit where it is due? Those kids worked their butts off, they deserve what they got. A little respect would go a long way! I know the cf kids are totally respectful of the teams they competed against this past year.
Please don't put CF down they worked hard. Since they started they have grown every year. Each year they get better. 2 years ago at the American Grand in Vegas their Diamondz team beat the 3 time NCA champs (cheer extreme or extreme cheer) all their teams have done well and last year 3rd at worlds was great. I can't wait to see what they have in store for us this year. I hope all the teams in California do well . California does have alot of talented teams I can't wait to see them all shine at this years comps.

Thanks for posting some more incorrect information. Please verify your own facts before you call someone else out for being wrong.
Yes CF and Extreme WERE in the same division at the Grand 2 years ago (2004-05). CF's team only had 1 boy, and back then you were allowed to compete "all girl" if you only had 1 boy on your team. That year's American Grand comp was where CF's Sm Sr "all girl" beat Extreme's Sm Sr all girl.
Here's the compete Small Senior division from that year's competition: CheerForce Diamonds Exteme Cheer (Texas) St Louis Exteme (Missouri) Macs (Utah) Power Cheer (Kentucky) Coast Spirit (Calif) CC Elite (Calif)
Ya Cheer Force did win that year becasue Extreme dropped. Extreme had 10 times more talent, Cheer Force just hit when it counted. I am not saying they aren't good, just keeping it real.
Agreed....Extreme Cheer was kinda rough that day. I remember cause we were in the whole and watched the whole thing. Rough time on stunting. Great routine though and yay CF was good but Extreme had more skills. CF lucked out.
Doesn't it ONLY count when you hit it . They beat that team because they worked hard and deserved it. I agree that CF is not a power house gym yet. When you can go to a competition and see all of there levels kick butt not just the level 5s thats when to my eyes they will be a powerhouse.
Yes I agree it does matter when it hits, but you can still pick out those teams that you like more and bring more to the mat. Extreme Cheer is just amazing, to bad they sold their gym. They are no longer around. Their style and skills will definetly be remembered. 4 time NCA champiions, thats hard. Especially in a senior division.
They deserved it. wrote: Doesn't it ONLY count when you hit it . They beat that team because they worked hard and deserved it.
Apparently not. I guess in cheer if you don’t like someone, you can say “they only won because the other team messed up this or that”.
Can you imagine that in ANY other sport??? - Texas won the Rose Bowl, but only because USC messed up those plays……they wouldn’t have won otherwise. USC had way more talent. - Miami won the NBA Championship, but only because Dallas messed up shooting those free throws. Dallas was the better team. - Pittsburg beat Seattle in the Super Bowl, but only because of those couple interceptions.
Doesn’t that sound utterly foolish?
Isn’t it amazing how some people can’t let a team they dislike (are jealous of) have their victory without an explanation of “why” they won, but how they definitely weren't the best team...........even when it’s from YEARS in the past!!!
Actually it's funny you should say that because most feel Seattle did outplay Pittsburgh, and if you asked anyone who knows, they will tell you that Seattle is the better team, they simply made some mistakes that cost them the game. You used a good example.
Good luck to all of our California teams this year! California gets better and better every year. I'm from southern california, but I'm glad to see any Cali teams get some recognition on the national level. I especially can't wait to see these teams(in no particular order) I'm not putting down anyone not on the list so please, hold the hate mail. I'm just saying these are my favorites. (btw, I didn't see cheergyms in 06)
