Did everyone that quit Quakes go to OC allstars? Just curious to why that many people would leave. What happened. I am sad to hear the Coast Spirit Closed, what happened to them?

That I don't know. I know many did go to OC but I don't know what happened to all the kids that came from Pacific Stars or where they went. As for the closure, no one really knows. I guess only the former owners really know. I would only be speculating.

What happened to Cal Storm (AV Cheer) in Lancaster? I heard they just closed down.

No, Quakes isn't closed but they went from 3 teams last year, to more when they combined with Pacific Stars in May, then lost them all and are now down to 1 1/2 teams with more leaving. So who knows what's happening there. We have one friend who is holding on for dear life over there, Lord knows why. They also lost ALL of their coaches except for the two high school ones and h ad to bring in a few high school kids for their last competitions last season. Who knows......

So all the kids that left Quakes went to OC Allstars? Is that how OC grew this year so much?

You can't afford to have a Gym with only 40-50 kids. Do Quakes just rent space from a gymnastics place or do they actually have their own Gym they pay rent on?

Pacific Stars (owned by Joy Troup, USASF's West Coast Director) in Aliso Viejo is the Gym that closed/merged into Quakes???

Ok, to answer both...

OC did get quite a few kids but not as many as you think. Maybe 10 or so. Maybe... You have to remember, we hear this thru parents in the gym. The gym doesn't tell us stuff at all. They don't like to spread rumors or make speculation. But we do welcome all the kids and parents and so far they have all been absolutely WONDERFUL. They are very very involved in the gym.

Quakes had their own gym with one full floor that had poles in almost the middle of the floor and a tiny semi-floor for tumbling. I "hear" that the problem in the gym is financial. If I say more, I would just be spreading rumors. It's totally what I've "heard" from this point on. But in what's been happening, I am thinking it's true.

Pacific Stars did close. They apparently merged with Quakes. Now, what happened after that I have NO IDEA. Somehow the kids just ran away???

OC did get some kids from Blaze also, Quakes sister gym. So my guess is.... it's just slowly sinking. But that too us a guess. I really don't have facts. I wish I did but I don't want to ask anyone cause it would seem like I am just trying to get the dirt. I want the parents to feel totally welcome.

We did get some kids form Quakes, Blaze and Cal Elite this season. That is, in part, how we grew so much. But, oddly, we did get A LOT of new kids. That's why our youth, mini and tiny teams grew so much. I guess the word has just gotten out. Friends tell friends.

Also, we don't lose as many kids to high schools too badly cause two local schools allow the kids to do both.

But that is my educated guess.....

So does Quakes have a junior and senior team this year? Anyone know how they are doing, because they have a long tradition in orange county. I really do wish the best for them. Their coaches are great especially Rhonda.

We really do wish the best for them too. I don't know what's happening over there. I hear so many stories. And truthfully, it makes me rething what I had thought of them myself. I have no idea what teams they have. I don't think they even really know.

But Pacific Stars is gone for SURE. That I know for a fact. So yea, websites don't mean much. Unless they are updated on a regular basis or have way cool message boards.... lol

Isn't Stars Extreme from Bakersfield? I didn't see them listed in Nor Cal or So Cal rosters (unless I missed it). They have a lot of impressive teams, I always enjoy watching them.
