It's so easy to get caught up in the unhappy, hard to please, problem with everything families. It's natural to try and please everyone. But I say that we make August the "appreciate the loyal" month!
Gym Owners and coaches.......take the time to thanks the kids and their families that give up so much and do everything they can to be true supporters of our wonderful sport, gyms, and staffs. For every tough family there are 20 that do exactly what is needed to help our gyms be a success! Let's not forget them.
It is sad to see that NO ONE has replied to this post. If this were a negative post, there would have been at least 10 replies by now. I for one appreciate the kids at our gym (I am a mom) who not only are there when they are supposed to be, but also are there during other practices and offer help to the younger ones.
I saw this post directed at gym owners and coaches, which aren't the majority of readers or posters on boards. So not seeing a response doesn't mean no one cares. Let's just hope that in August in the gyms across the country that the owners and coaches take a few extra minutes to thank those moms and dads that are loyal to their programs, who support their decisions, who have their kids there to learn more than just cheerleading, that they stop and say a simple "Thank you, we appreciate you and your kids".
I SOOOOO appreciate all of the great ones at Cheer Odyssey. Parents, Coaches, and all of our cheerleaders who work so hard! To the coaches who are also parents.... you give so much to all of us often putting your own time and families second. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! You are loved and greatly appreciated even if we dont't tell you enough.... (and sometimes complain) And to the ROWDIE ROOTERS... C/O - YOU KNOW!
I don't think the original post meant you need to log into the anonymous board and thank the kids in your gym and their families; I could be wrong but I think it meant to do it in person?? Why would you log in anonymously and thank them when they have no idea who you are?
The ones who may respond will most likely be the usual ones you see with gym names attached; and the others will do it in person, hopefully.
We were a loyal family, we weren't treated with the same respect from our gym. If someone is worrying about how some families are feeling, maybe its guilt and they should be thinking about it to make it better in the future.
