I'm a parent and I know for a fact that I do awesome cheer curls, but I can also say it's one of my least favorite things to do. My daughters hair is long and thick and takes about an hour to do right. I don't like them. When we travel to a competition I can straighten her hair in 15 minutes pull it up in a pony tail put a bow in it and even have time to go out to breakfast. Less stress.... Oh and I even know how to do make up. Sometimes us helpless parents can supprise you....
Also dislike cheer curls wrote: I'm a parent and I know for a fact that I do awesome cheer curls, but I can also say it's one of my least favorite things to do. If it takes you an hour then you are probably doing old fashion cheer curls. There are quicker ways to get the same look in half the time. In my opinion straight hair is boring. I guess its all about image, Northern California has never been known to set bar on cheerleading style. We have stepped it up on talent, but not in style. You don't see teams like Top Gun and World Cup with straight pony tails. NO it doesn't make them win or more talented, but sure does look good when they perform because its the whole package. I was always taught presentation is the key to success.
I definitely do not like the cheer curls. Hopefully we left those behind (ugh cheer wigs) when I left the youth leagues. I do like the high pony tail when they do a softer curl. I like the straight pony I think it looks just fine.
I am a huge fan of the High Straight pony tail. After years of curlers and sticky hairspray we did the Pony tail/with side bangs thing last year it was wonderful to gain back an hour at night and 15-20 min in the morning! I think as long as you have a cute bow and look uniform by squad it is all good.
Geeze, I thought this should have been a no drama type topic. I was wrong. And I was told that my favorite hairstyle is UGLY. That hurts man.... that hurts! LOL
i disagree..i have yet to see a guy with long hair at competitions that looks "homeless"..most fo the time the guys air looks just as good if not BETTER than the girls long and they usually straighten it really pretty and it looks very upkept so i think it depends on the guy
I think the half up half down can get annoying, it seems so ununiformed to me. THe girls hair is always in there face and it looks messy. My favorite hair style is a high pony with a poof and a cute bow
well I have a son who cheer's. He will tell you he likes the high pony with curls real ones. I asked him why? He stated that he thinks it looks best and also more importantly when partner stunting he dosen't get the girls hair in his face.
I cant stand when one or two girls on a team color their hair an extreme color.
streaking hair blonde or completely changing the color to a different natural color (brown black blonde), but the whole rogue thing going on doesnt work. with like half the hair blonde and half brown, or even worse, that green and purple underneath. does anyone like this? shoot me if you do. it does not look professional, but a cry for attention
