I must say.. Top Gun BY FAR has the BEST uniforms I have EVER seen.
My favorite top gun uniform was from 2 years ago, the "tube tops" with sleeves connected at the armpit, and the stars on the sleeves! with the black chokers and the big socks!
I also like dlast year.. they had the "halter tops" and the star design and everything! My personal favorites =)
This topic is not about being deducted for uniforms or who's uniforms are too riskay. it about who has nice uniforms! Stay on topic, people.
Thank God wrote: Thank God we don't have that problem in our gym. No one is heavy or chuncky.
are you really thanking God for your team being thin? What about thanking God for the many real blessing he provides you, Having a team of thin girls may be great, but I seriously think it was in Gods Master Plan.
No, I was thanking God that everyone is thin and this means healthy and fit. We are blessed in many ways and this is just one of them. We don't have to argue on boards about flab and chubbiness and defending our kids in tiny outfits that don't look good on them and are embarrassing. So take it any negative way you wish, but at least we don't have to worry about it.
Boy does negativity run rampant with the people that frequent the boards! You can't say anything without someone being mean!!! And we wonder why people think cheerleaders are airheads. Look how everyone behaves!
if chunky girls feel soooooo embarrassed, why dont they just lose weight? and dont say its sooooooooo friggin hard! trust me im overwieght and i decided i dont like the way i look in my uniform, so i started losing weight. they need to stop feeling sorry for themselves, do something about it, and stop punishing girls that can pull off a crop or middrift top. cuz full peices are very hot and itchy!
My problem is all star cheerleaders are always comparing themselves to football players, swimmers, dancers, and gymnasts. Now most people who play these sports are pretty in shape, other than linebackers LOL. You see football players wear uniforms that show their stomach, even in practice with half cut t-shirts. Most gymnasts are pretty defined. I have yet to see any gymnast over weight. I don't mean skinny, I mean toned and athletic. Now all star cheerleaders should be like that, if they are truely conditioned for the skills they are doing. I feel more all star girls need to condition to really set themselves apart to be able to wear the midriff. Really look like an athlete. You should look athletic.
Airborn is all black right? maybe not, from where I was standing my friend said they were black. I never really knew what other colors were on their uniform. Black white and green? Or Black and white?
Crop tops not just look on bigger girls but this might sound mean but the girls who have boy bodies, well, they look bad in them too. I'd rather look at a girl who is chunky to a girl who has a boy body. NO CURVES, yuck. The uniform looks so funny on them.
As for the whole losing weight idea. Some ladies like the curves and the chunk. Putting out there to lose weight is a great idea but what about the ones that dont want to. I know my mom always thanks our coaches for not having crop tops because it is so bad looking. YOU DONT NEED TO SHOW SKIN TO CHEER! I even find it better as a back spot to catch my flyer if she is falling weird. I can grab her top if that is the last resort. I agree with all the the people who don't like crop tops. They're getting way old and too trendy.
Well we should just go back to baggy sweaters, pleated skirts, tube socks and clunky shoes. All-star cheer is about style, if you want to have a "normal" uniform then maybe all-star cheer is not your thing. We have to differentiate our sport from sideline and college cheerleading.
Crop tops are old and trendy? Hate to break it to ya, but not only are they here to stay, but it's the old school uniforms that will be gone, and soon. Just look at Worlds. So all you ultra conservative moms will just have to get over it. I always found it strange they don't complain about the bright red lipstick the mini's are wearing. Now that to me is bizarre. Crop tops, bad (like at that age there's anything indecent about it), but bright red lipstick, good. Don't get it.
I'm one of those conservative moms, and yes, I also complain about the bright red lipstick and over the top eye makeup on the little ones. I understand "stage" makeup, but some of it is way too much for the little ones.
What I think is funny is that no one has noticed that you don't NEED crop tops to win cheerleading. Charlotte Allstars has full tops...look how they placed at worlds. Same with "over the top" makeup and overdone hair. It can be fun and I know it's exciting to get all done up before you go on stage, but NONE of it is necessary. None of this matters if you're good. Cheer Athletics could go on the floor wearing baggy sweaters and saddle shoes and they'd still win. So lets all stop obessesing about our appearance and go back to practicing
I agree with Necessary, none of that is needed, and when a team is good, it isn't even noticed. Truthfully, who can state that if you're watching a team with true talent doing amazing things, you're going to care about what their uniforms look like, or care if they're wearing makeup. I'm watching their amazing stunts and tumbling, nothing else. Our teams wear crops because they're so comfortable and cool; they were thrilled to get rid of the itchy long tops and longer skirts.

I am one too and I do not like the lipstick either. Plus trying to keep lipstick on a 5 year olds lips and not on anything else.... what a pain..... I think I am going to buy some Shout Wipes stock this year.
