RE: New comp etiquite rules

I am willing to bet that other teams will have the thundersticks (long red things) this year casue POWER had them last year. So bring the Advil!

In regards to POWER, they always sit to the right or left of the stage, as I believe cheergyms.com does..believe me when I say if POWER decided to be there early enough to take center seats, they would. I think their owner tells them which area to sit, and I am glad he tells them to stay away from center,THANK YOU!

Well, if it's so, that is a kind thing to do. Thank you Power and Cheergyms.

My two cents

My plea to Power. Ditch the thundersticks and go back to waving your little towels. It was alot easier on the ears. Maybe we should all get those loud horns or those noisy cowbells and see who can drown each other out. I hate the thundersticks. Well one thing is for sure if I'm not paying attention to what team is coming on next Power lets you know it's one of thier teams, even if you step out of the building for a minute you can still hear them.

But if it's working, I don't see why they would change it. I think it's the point to let everyone know that they are there. And that's ok. Someone once brought their boat horn to a comp and of course got kicked out right after blowing it. It was INSANE!!!!

Being serious I do know that alot of people get really annoyed with how loud they are ( they tundersticks). Toward the end of a long day they do really wear on you.

Keep it Going

I think if it works for POWER, then go with it. Its refreshing to see an all star program that has so much spirit and excitement. I am not from POWER but I am very envious of how their parents and families show their support. Maybe all of our fans should be like that. All-Star cheer is a sport. I think people need to understand this is competitive cheerleading. It's exciting and upbeat!

Agree

I agree I love how power shows such support for thier teams. I still hate the thundersticks. And I know there are alot of others who hate them too. You can still show spirit without causing everyone else permanent hearing loss.

Maybe the thunder stick have an advantage, think about it . . . . If a group that does not like the noise sees power in a section with their sticks they will not choose to sit there ---- and power will not have to save seats they will be empty already . . . . . .

No Master Plan

Date:

I am from Power and can tell you that there is no master plan behind using the"bangers" as we call them other than supporting our athletes. Are kids love to hear the support we give them. That is it.

I apoligize if it bugs anyone and IN NO WAY are we trying to save seats by using them. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come sit with us. Good luck to all teams this upcoming season.

Don't Apoligize!!!

Don't feel you have to apoligize. I think the support you get from your parents is awesome. I don't like the bangers as you call them, but my post was not meant to be mean spirited. Loved to watch all the teams from Power. Good luck on the upcoming cheer season :)

POWER parent, my post about loving to hate you was not meant to sound mean spirited either. I think you guys are great for your team. The first year my child cheered, you are the one and only team I remember from any of the comps. and her squad did not even go up against you. It is working for you, and I love what you bring in spirit.

By the way.... I LOVE me cow bell and I will use it as much and as loud as I can when my baby and any of our squads are up. Like POWER teams, you will know who we are and when our teams are taking the floor.

Good Luck to all - Hope everyone has a great and HEALTHY season!

Banger Fan!!!

I have to admit, at first I was a little annoyed by the bangers. But then, when I REALLY thought about it....... I guess I was just jeaulous that the Power parents had it so together to cheer for their kids like that. Can you IMAGINE how it feels to take the floor to that kind of rush??? I mean if that doesn't get the team pumped up to give their best performance on the floor then I don't know what will. I admire the Power parents for their wonderful dedication. Keep up the good work, you should be proud!

Ok I give in. I know the BANGERS, THUNDERSTICKS are here to stay. I'll be seeing you all when the competitions start. Look for me I'll be the parent with the huge bottle of tylenol hanging out of my back pack.

I think its hillarious. They only use the bangers when each team comes onto perform, so its not really bad. As far as noise, I don't really mind it, mainly because were listening to cheer music all day and I love that too. The main thing I get tired of rude looks and stares at competitions. Also seat saving. Drives me CRAZY. The companies always announce "no seat saving" and people do it all the time.

Yea But

Unfortunatly you are forced to save seats since people insist on going to the bathroom and to get food and drinks. So we all pretty much just need to sit back and relax a little. Just make sure you are there early if you want good seats. I just love the people who walk in 3 seconds before their child goes on and then complains that we have seats saved. Sorry hunny bunches, I was there at 6 in the morning. And with as many freakin kids that I have, it's a miracle I get to take a shower in time let alone get there early!!!!

I have to say that POWER' bangers are great. How could we ever complain about the noise? It is a c-h-e-e-r comp! About the jumping up when the 2nd place team is called.....im a parent and I HATE it....not because im jealous (because parents from my daughters team were doing this) but beause it is RUDE....I understand that you are excited BUT wait your turn there will be plenty of time to be excited. nThis is just my opinion but I feel it is courtesy to the 2nd plce team to let tem be excited also....after all 2nd is great as well!
