you're right everyone crouching down to highlight a 5 foot 8 tall boys kick double as an opening was waaay more memorable than SBE's full squad standingg back opening and CF diamondz 1's 2's and 3 to fulls. [ not to mention kiara's 2 to whip double]
ok i already know before posting this all the cg.com ppl are gonna get all offensive but i really dont care its just my opinion..honestly i dont think AA should have even been iN the super 6 i thought Stars Extreme got jacked so badly cuz after watching them at the competition and on the GSSA dvd..im engrossed into their performance every time..its way mroe creative and fun to watch then a bunch of recycled fulls over and over. [sorry if that was kinda blunt but thats what i think]
technically we had more right of being in the super six than SBE did so why should they have taken our place when they could have just taken yours?
but again thats just BLUNT, who knows i could be wrong. but i guess im not the only one who agrees with me because the judges did, last time i remember those were the only ones who count
and by the way motions opening was more creative, maybe not as difficult but more creative. i thought i saw full squad opening tucks like two years ago? let alone cleanly. but i could be wrong but hey who knows
AA person above needs to relax..the nce person was just statign theri opinion as everyone else on this board so openly does so why take offense? and id have to disagree with the above reply saying that cg should be in the super6 before sbe did becasue there is NO doubt they had waaay more difficullty and entertainment factor in theri routine..sorry just being honest. agreed sbe made mistakes and could have been cleaner..but skill should always be the deciding factor
no it should not... that is completely a matter of opinion
but i guess we have different opinions then. and i wasn't flippen out, i was just stating my opinion too. no worries. whats done is done.
they did not have WAY more dificulty in their routine. tumbling can only take it so far. you would be suprised on the score sheets even at a place like worlds how decent the AA team did in the subject of tumbling. but its cool
Ok... Now I'm just stating my opinion, but according to you it does'nt matter if you make alot of mistakes and your routine isn't clean. You should win just because your routine is more difficult. Duh!!! Something does not sound right about that. It's wonderful that your team had all these mad skills, but you made mistakes and didn't win get over it. All that spite and anger is getting really old. Why should Motions and AA have to keep defending themselves on thier own message board. What ever happened to losing gracefully. I fear good sportsmanship has really died.
i guess people at cg are walls because u guys seriously arent getting it!!!!!!!!!! so what ur clean!! so what more people didnt squat at the begining of their routine to some stupid frank. music!! SOO WHAT! u guys arent any better then sbe or stars. they push their limits u dont. they try new things u dont. so ur a little cleaner i dont give a rats ass! id rather watch their routines more! maybe if u guys took some risks it would be diff. but u dont.
The thing that people are forgetting, especially in these last posts, that it doesn't matter if you can stick those standing fulls or kick doubles 1 out 5 times in practice, if they don't hit, then it doesn't look good. Everyone has eyes, ears and most gyms have mirrors. If you think its not going to hit , it probably won't. Going out there and throwing some skills that aren't clean isn't going to win anymore. Most of the teams that won worlds were CLEAN. Pefect example is Gym Tyme. They were soo clean with the added difficulty. Cheergyms.com is clean which works for them, SBE likes flashy and innovative, which works for them also. 9 times out of 10 though the cheergyms.com style is going to place higher because It LOOKS better. Regardless of skills, what looks good will always matter the most. Judges don't care what you have in practice, its all about hitting it on that ugly blue carpet. LOL
Just like everyone here has a difference of opinion, SO WILL THE JUDGES. Some judges will want to see total cleanliness while others will care more about innovativness and yet another will want to see skill. So even though the score cards will say what you have to have, each judge uses their own opinions to score you in each section. So if you have the skill and a judge cares about skill, you will score higher than you would with the judge who wants to see something new and innovative. Does that make sense?
So arguing who has what and what is better, it doesn't matter really cause you are at the mercy of the judge and what HE/SHE wants to see. Too bad we couldn't interview each judge and go accordingly.

For the most part I think most judges want to see people hit the skills. Yes its great to see full up left stretch pop down to right pull scorp scale double down, but if its sloppy then change it up. Its hard, but sloppy. If you haven't noticed that sharpness is becoming the stepping stone to success then you must not be watching the top cheerleading teams and competitions.
you do make sense, and i think you actually in some way do get to interview the judges before you compete. if you look at it this way, a judge can feel how they wants about a routine, but they still have to put there score according to the competition score sheet. so in a way a judges mind is based on a scoresheet that the competition provides. so if you know your competitions i think you might have a clue to the judges, even though each judge is a little different in their own way they have a rubric to base their opinion on.
Thanks Alex. I agree completely. There's really no way to get away from prefrences and opinions of each particular judge, but at least there's some sort of small way to compete without being held responsible for each individual taste. Unfortunately cheer doesn't have a clear cut scoring system (like football or baseball where a goal is reached) but at leasat it keeps each judge honest. That's why the "we were robbed" thing that is thrown about so often doesn't fly all too well. But when I see people argue about what judge did what and what is better, it's just a little childish because the judges are PEOPLE and we all have to remember that they have tastes and prefrences too.
SBE: -full team kick doubles -8 doubles on the floor -6 standing fulls -all partner stunts -full team tucks
CF: -4 standing fulls -like 10 3-to fulls -difficult stunt, with dips -full team pike tucks and toe handspring tucks -and overall and exciting routine
AA: -no full team standing tucks -only 1 standing full -re-use their tumbling A LOT - only 3 doubles -partner stunt was good but had a HUGE mistake, (stunts are bigger than tumbling mistakes usually) -only one kick double -and overall their routine just wasnt as exciting as the other 2
i think it was clear. that gssa just likes the "nor-cal" style cuz thats exactly what cg.com is. cf and sbe are definatly more of the so-cal style.
This was an old post but I couldn't help myself. It is funny how SBE/NCE gets attacked all the time on this website. SBE was great and gave the AA team a run for their money. NCE will be even stronger with a new name, a new beginning. For my own personal opinion on who should beat who or whatever everyones calling it. I watched the video's and every team was amazing. Each brought their own style and worked that floor. I think that everyone was placed the way they should of. POWER was breath taking, amazing! POWER has the crazy, top notch, hardcore, cheer loving kids. THEY'RE CRAZY! SBE had great choreography and style. SBE is always little messy but white on uniforms can play tricks on your eyes. It's a dangerous color on a uniform esp. if it is by the shoulders. I also thing Cheerforce rockiez, I like how they incorporated their tumbling but the music didn't get me into it. I felt as though some parts should of been cleaned to the music and needed more of a "crowd" related song. The ending was a little sloppy. Cheergyms AA team was very clean in their tumbling in the beginning with a little timing problems. Transitiong are good but a little messy. Love the stunts. I don't think cheergyms AA team did bad at all! I think they hit what they could and brought it to the floor. The one thing I see is that when I watch the cheergyms teams, including the AA I see cheergyms.com as a whole. MEANING I see nothing special about the AA team. It was a "cheergyms.com" routine. I think Cheergyms has originalty yet thats put into all the gyms. I loved all the teams performances. Congrats on making to the worlds ladies. Very impressive! I wish I could go to the worlds instead of judging at competitions. Again, nice job ladies and gentlemen.

I never got lower then a 9 in dance thank you and i just did some choreography in the nor cal area so my style will start to be seen more up by you guys lol....... Traditonal aka old school lol, some people need to open there eyes alittle and see that times are changeing.........Good luck next season to all........
Isn't everything "supposed" to move forward? Aren't we supposed to get better and do new things? Who would do anything traditional or old school? Boy wouldn't cheer get boring if we all did the same thing. Hey, I have an idea, let's all go back to old school. No more girls on cheer teams. Only guys in long pants and sweaters. Now THAT'S old school!!!! Sorry Coach Shawn, your new style just won't fly any more. We're goin OLD SCHOOL!!!!! lol lol lol ;)
To be honest its cool to be different but I would like to see clean & energetic performances. I like CA All Stars dances. They are hot. NCE im sure will have good dances as well.
Cheer Force's dance wasn't horrible, but it wasn't something I would advocate either. Just one of those things you just watch while they are performing. I would have to say Cheer Force has some interesting stunt sections. Can't wait to see those this season. Also its great Shawn did some routines up in Nor Cal, but unless they can perform them like he envisioned, then it will look like everyone else.
