didn't anyone ever tell you all that you can not change the past? So last year was great, some great teams (Power, Motions California, CGC AA, Pyramids, cheerforce, SBE-to name a few) but this is this year and the teams are mixed up, people graduated (and left or stayed) new people came to the programs....let's reevaluate in October and just let this thread go away!!
TO: A lot of team do it wrote: Weren't you guys the squad that went to the USA comp with kids younger that 12 and wanted to compete in the Worlds division but couldn't? I remember their being some sort of stink about it because I guess you guys were basicly disqualified because a coach from Outlaws busted you for having kids that were too young on the team for USA. Well, if the CA girl sat out at USA, then geat...smart coaches. I also think that USA didn't see alot of teams there because of the age rule. Are they doing the same this year?
No one was "busted" at USA. The girl that couldn't compete, knew she wasn't competing way before the competition. Nobody turned anyone in, nobody was disqualified.
True about the mixing up but not really. Out of 350 kids, we only had 2 graduate from the cheer program. So we have alot of the same kids. Some movements were done though to make the levels more accurate.
all american won thier bid fairly. they threw a clean routine. other teams had more difficulty but had mistakes. all american had mistakes as well but i think they really represent gssa style and were one of the cleanest teams.
GSSA and USA will always reward easier routines over more difficulty if they like the easier routines, or if they feel they should win because they were cleaner. How would the same team do at American Championships, I wonder?
So based on the scoring system of GSSA, they won fairly.

gssa style is a freaking JOKE!!! all you need to win is a biased judging panel and a friend on the board! do u REALLY, HONESTLY feel that aa DESERVED that bid? had there been actual good teams there they would have NEVER seen that giant globe at worlds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Say what you want about GSSA, USA and any other comps whose scoring system has NO accountability. But until someone (USASF) decides to make the scoring system consistent for every cheer competition (same scoresheet), businesses (aka competition companies) will cater to who gives them the most business. Why wouldn't they? They don't have to justify why they chose a particular team over another, so for the sake of their business, doesn't it make more sense to award those who bring in the most teams/money? Sad but true. Another reason (and a very good one) to go with consistent scoring.
So? wrote: Sure, but they did get a bid over a few teams who "thought" they deserved one...
Yeah I can think of at least 3 other teams that deserved that bid more them AA. But thats what you get when you go to a cheesy unprofessional competition like GSSA
can you blame them wrote: Say what you want about GSSA, USA and any other comps whose scoring system has NO accountability. why dont these cheer gyms do somthing about all this then? why do they just sit back and let these biased judges score them higher than more deserving teams? wouldnt you want to be scored fairly, even if it ment you didnt get to go to worlds one year? i wouldnt i would go back to my gym and work even harder for the next season so that way i know i deserved it!
There is no proof to indicate that is what's going on. But I think the point is, the uneven and unaccountable scoring systems can certainly allow this to happen without anyone being able to do anything about it. The gyms that come out on top are happy to be there and most likely feel they deserve it. The ones who are shafted have only one option (since protesting a scoring system that makes no sense will do them no good) -- their only option is to not go back. And more gyms seem to be doing exactly that.

Now I have a problem more with GSSA than USA, but both have their wacky scoring system. GSSA has very inconsistent scores, just look at their results from the past 2 seasons and you can see the scores are VERY large. Now you can look at that in 2 ways. 1. It's good to get a variety of scores from the various background of judges or 2. they are not communicating while judging and writing down their scores.
USA is very inconsistent and I wouldn't day they don't reward difficulty, but they need to reward clean and consistency. USA likes a lot of "visual motions" and "variety" in their routines, but the bottom line is you need to be rewarded for what your doing not what their "style" is. If you bring a total UCA style to their event and hit solid, then u should be rewarded. Thats the problems I have with both of those companies. They need to realize that cheerleading is a national sport, not regional and get with the program and reward ALL styles, not just "west coast" style.
