Geeez, not another one of these posts. The i.e. was a new touch though. Best high school team in Nor Cal (i.e., our team, another team we're close to that our friends are on, another team that isn't good but we'll list them since we like them). Do people who post new topics that have been done a billion times ever read any posts other than their own? I've often wondered...

Exactly... and u cant even say who is the best because not all the teams in nor cal have competed against each other so whos right is it to say what team is the best.. a better idea would have been to say which high school team is your favorite or what team did you think did really well last season. Because those are opinion questions! N defientely read the old post before putting one on here...

I shouldn't even reply back to this message, but I am. First of all when people say they are "better" than all-star teams in the most EXTREME cases that might be true, but you need to keep things in perspective. Check out the list
1. All Star teams only meet 2 times a week, compared to most high school teams that meet 3-4 times a week. Regardless if they are only meeting for sideline cheerleading, they are still practicing cheerleading. Some all star teams meet twice and others even less than that.
2. All Star kids sometimes drive 2-3 hours just to be on their team. Walking into your h.s. gym after school is no comparison to people commuting.
3. All Star teams are "full-year" by a calendar, but in no means a FULL-year. They get breaks during school and many times kids will miss all star practices for school funcitions which are usually important.
4. All-Star programs are in no shape or form to compete or look like a high school team. Their point is to get strong athletes from surrounding areas and put them together. A high school team just gets kids from their school, plain and simple.
5. I have NEVER heard of Castlemont high school, so ya'll must be just competing at select events. The best team ever to come out of California is Mater Dei, Century, Ramona, Granite Bay, and Bear Creek. There have been others that pop in and out, but there is nobody that has really competed nationally and done well.
The bottom line for my reasoning is that all star teams get kids with NO experience, travel long distances, and don't work together as much as high school teams so for as good as they get in such little time is what makes them special. I don't many high school teams that can say that. Thats the best part about the all-star teams, they meet very little and LOOK VERY good. Thats for any all star program, not just cheergyms.com, which by the way have looked pretty darn good this past season.
