There seems to be major concern for the kids at camp this weekend. The temps are supposed to be in the 100's. Does this mean our kids will get more than the usual number of water breaks?? Will they also get to take some breaks "out of the sun" to cool off their bodies. I know you should not over-exercise outside when the temps get to high. There is real fear for the kids health in the extreme heat due this weekend.
Please tell us what cooling methods you have for the kids this weekend.
The kids will not be forced to "over do" anything. As staff, we know the limits and are very well aware that it can be dangerous to be in the extreme heat for a very long time. Also, this year there are a lot more water breaks planned, and water will be available thru out the day. The nice thing about the location of the camp, is that it is set right next to the bay, and a nice cool breeze keeps it pretty comfortable. We understand your concerns, but just know that your kids are going to have the best time ever!!! The heat will be the last memory that they bring home from camp. I hope this helped!!
