No i don't give up easily. I voiced my opinions on this matter before the rules happened, but now they are set into effect and USASF isn't going to take the rule back after they just gave us a hard enough time changing them now. I'd rather sit in my gym and work out how we are going to make it so we can get as much of our teams to worlds as possible. Not get on here and say how unfair this rule change is.

Do you see in the near future the elimination of the "unpaid" bids or passing down bids? If USASF eliminate either of those then wouldn't it be harder to get a bid? Or are there other changes that could happen to make it harder to get a bid?
The problem is that Worlds in the past few years has been a huge Money Pit. There's no way to run a production like Worlds with 100 teams and not lose money. That is the main reason why in the near future there is no reason to expect the bids not to become more and more plentiful. More bids, more teams, more money. It's a business and not even the all mighty Varsity should appologize for that.
My suggestion- Make Worlds a 3 day event. Friday and Saturday hold a competion for Jr Level 5's and Sr Level 4's. This would be huge. Make it semi easy to qualify and bring in 400-500 teams. Money issues out the door!
Then on Sunday would be the Main Event. The Sr Level 5 divisions plus the International divsions. Make bids very tough to get to the point where each division was no bigger than 10 teams. All the other teams would stick around to watch the "Main Event" and aspire to be there someday. Talk about prestige!
I have not been to Worlds but your ideas make a lot of sense. I'm sure all the teams would stay for the "Main Event". We were at the "Super Six Event" just watching and cheering on our local teams. Talk about being inspired.....it was so exciting!
I really like that idea -- everyone wins. More money for Worlds, more levels getting the opportunity to compete (some level 4's were awesome this past season), more divisions. Love it.
It does sound like a good idea as long as the prizes for winning were not the same as they are for the MAIN event. I think the level 5 teams should get the best prizes as that is the ultimate win.
