you had try outs and didn't get placed on a team?? Well if that's the case maybe they are just really trying to figure things out ahead, instead of placing and then possibly removing someone later. Trust me, this way is much better and less disappointing in the end.
It makes sense to wait to make sure the skills really match the team you're put on, as long as there is a way out for someone who is truly not happy with their team placement.
Pyramids had tryouts but ..... will not place anyone on a team until 6 weeks later! Everyone practices togethor based on age (jr, sr)..... thats why i cant wait. im still not on a team.
I truly applaud cheergyms for this tryout so they match the right skills to the team. You cannot win with advanced teams that only 15 out of 30 girls have bs tucks etc. When you see the really good teams, all the girls have the same level (or close to) of skills. It's very impressive when you see a team pulling all the same tumbing skills at one time. It's tough to wait it out, but it makes all the girls & guys try harder!
I do understand what cheergyms.com is doing with making the kids wait to form teams. It makes sense to me... and they are a large successful program with alot of kids so they can pull this off. Best of luck to everyone!
Yes, I can see waiting too. It's just interesting because we have two different discussions, or rather, philosophies going on on this message board. You have one group who already have their teams formed, choreography done (wow), etc... who are very upset with the potential USASF changes that might occur. Then you have another group of teams who don't even have their official teams formed yet and won't for weeks down the road. So you could look at the first group and think maybe they have the right idea and will have more success in their goal towards a Worlds bid (and better results once they get there). Makes you think maybe we should all do the same (start early like they have). Just an obvious difference in philosophy that really stands out when you compare the two threads. It will be interesting to see which pays off next April!
