So I hear that Cheersport and another large competition are planned for the same weekend (not too bright on the planners parts if it's true) and am curious where everyone else is going?
why? wrote: wow- that's not very smart on either companies part. why would they do that?
And i'm very curious too see where some of the big name teams that usually attend BOTH are going to go.
Yes, that is the big question. Both of these competitions have been getting bigger, better, and most of the "top" teams have gone to both. I can't wait to see who attends. And for those level 5 teams going for Worlds bids, there should be less "passing down" bids to teams that place 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th.
The size of the 2 competitions is what makes them so great. They're HUGE! With all those teams, all that talent, it gives a great show. Not jsut for us as cheerleaders but our parents love wacthing their own personal favorite teams. I'm not saying parents dont like their child's team, but they do like watching other teams. (I've got my mom hooked on watching Top Gun youtube videos.. haha) And I'm a little disappointed that they're both the same weekend. The people that go to NCA will be upset that some teams wont be there due to Cheersport and vice versa. Also, What about the teams that traditionally attend both, or would like toa ttend both. It could be bad for buisness, no matter how big both of them are.
Didn't catch that about the worlds bids though. I do agree- that is a good thing. But I'll still be dissappointed that we won't see as big a turnout as we usually do.
I kind of dissagree on the argument that it will be better for the whole getting a bid to World's thing.
If anything i think that it will make it EASIER for those teams that people see as "not up to par" to get a bid. Because of the fact that their are two big competitions that same weekend, some of the "big name" teams will go to NCA and others will go to CHEERSPORT, therefore those "big name" teams that traditionally would compete against each other in the Worl'ds division ((making harder to get that bid)) will be split up, so there will be less competition in the World's division at BOTH places. Just what i think though, could be TOTALLY wrong.
What happened this pas season is the "big" name teams went to both. Those "big" name teams got their bids at NCA which happened first. Then the "big" name teams that already had their bids went to Cheersport and won, but the bids went to 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th place teams. So I don't see how it is going to be any different for Worlds bids. The only difference is those "big" name teams won't be able to claim National championships for NCA and Cheersport.
Neither of the companies (NCA/Cheersport) wanted this to happen. It has nothing to do with "not being smart", but was the result of scheduling conflicts at the venues where each had been competing for years. It just so happened that both were required to move and they have to sign long term contracts to get that much space.
Neither are very happy about this as it will affect both.
Let be real, You are not going gto catch me. I am currently working on your buddy Danny. He is going down next. As a side note, anybody that on thier OWN FREE WILL traded Albert Pujols should hang thier head in shame and just give up. (wink)
