I think that Cheer Xplosion is one of the best in the Tri Valley area. I also think that California spirit will be good.

Yes, I also think that Cheer Xplosion is one of the best. But I do have to disagree with you about California Spirit because of the fact that they were US Gymsports before that did not do so well.

Yes i agree about California Spirit but they can also get a lot of new girls that may have lots of talent. I look forward to seeing them.

No Point

There's really no point in trying to figure out the best gyms in the tri-valley area when there are only two left. Cheer Xplosion is always good, and California Spirit, well you just won't know until their season starts. Yes, they were USGymsports previously, but under new ownership with new girls/guys joining they could do well. Another option for those living in Livermore would be Athletic Perfection in Tracy, they also had a good turnout and have always done well.

I wonder what happened to Cheer Effex? Did they move? Just wonderin.. Hope everyone finds a place they are happy with this coming season.

Yeah, no one will know about CSE until we actually see how they pan out. But Athletic Perfection had a great season and Cheer Xplosion is usually good too, although I'm not sure I saw them at all this year.

I remember seeing US Gymsports in San Mateo at the Athletic Championship. I think it was thier Sr Team. I thought they were pretty good. I don't know how they placed, but I was impressed with thier tumbling. They had a nice routine also. Wish them luck in the upcoming year.

Athletic Championship DVD

If anyone has the Athletic Championship DVD from San Mateo you can see both USGymsports (one team) and Cheer Xplosion (three teams) on it. Colony and Focus are on there too, so I thought maybe they might have a copy. USGymsports had a nice routine, just too many falls.

I wish there was one single competition ALL the gyms in the bay area went to. THen you could see how they stack up against each other, but also it would help if you ever had to decide on a new place to go. Maybe all the gyms could make a pact to go to at least one together.

We will see

l think all the gyms in the Tri-Valley will do very well. All gyms have their good and bad points.

Cheer Xplosion- established program in Livermore and did well last season at most of their competitions

California Spirit Elite- new gym and new program. Some of the staff from US Gymsports, but when a gym is new, its new. I am excited to see this team, because they seem to have alot of potential.

Athletic Perfection- good program with clean routines. Always fun to watch them at competitions. Colorful uniforms also.

I think it's funny that this topic would start after colony closed and people are trying to get heir gym name out there....lame.

Why is it lame? Those people deserve to know their options. It's not lame for those gyms to put their name out there as an option for people who have had their program close on them.

why lame?

Both Colony and Focus closed, and there is nothing wrong with talking about gyms that they might want to consider. What I think is lame is when people don't mention all the options, because they don't want any other gyms picking up additional girls. They have to go somewhere, why not steer them towards a gym you think might work for them?

I think the best situation for those at Colony and Focus who are finding a new cheer home would be to stay with cheergyms, since for most if not all of you, that is your family. Those of us at other gyms understand that completely, and personally I know it would be extremely difficult for us if we were in that same situation. If you can make that work, do it! It would be so worth it!

But if you can't because it's just too much of a commute, it appears there are other options in your area, which is a good thing. Imagine if there wasn't? I know it may seem like Dorothy in Oz (there's no place like home), but the rest of us feel the same way about our gyms too. But wherever you decide to go, we all wish you the best of luck. :)

I wish all the gyms in the Tri-Valley good luck this season. Athletic Perfection looked great last season and I'm sure they will do great next year. Cheer Xplosion is an established gym and have alot of talented girls and I'm sure they will be even stronger next year. California Elite is a brand new gym. Yes it was US Gymsports, but it's been taken over by a new owner, new name, and alot of new girls are joining and alot that left are returning. We checked them out and I have to say I've was very impressed with all the staff and the facility. Yes it's a new gym but my daughter loved it and we look forward to being apart of thier new family. It was not an easy decision to make finding a new home after Colony closed, but the decision was made when my daughter came home with a big smile on her face after taking a tumbling class with Mike Grenz. We will still miss being apart of Cheergyms and will continue to cheer for all of you next season.

We also found ourselves looking for a new gym, and we are among the ones who will not be returning. But we wish them the best of luck in their new ownership. You can never have too many choices in the bay area, the more gyms the better.
