WORLDS (encore)

I just wanted to say that I am so proud of both Motions and All American. Ya'll were amazing. Being at worlds was a very surreal experince. And I loved every minute of it. But to those who were there, Dose anyone know what happened to the girl from Encore? All I saw was that she was on the floor in the crowd when they cut the music. can anyone fill in the gaps? not that it is that important, I'm just wondering.

xoxo

PS. I have now lost my voice from screaming for both teams.

She landed wrong on her double full, and we are assuming she blew out her knee. We haven't heard anything official, but that's what we saw.

Turned out just to be a severe strain. No bone or ligament damage.

Thanks ACEDAD for the update. Glad to hear no ligament or bone damage. She'll probably be back stronger next year!

It was troubling to see many kids getting hurt doing fulls or double fulls. I'm sure most of these kids were not new at doing these skills. Is it just too much adrenilin or nerves being at Worlds? I don't think I've seen so many injuries at one competition.

Any opinions?

I acually saw very few kids performind skills that they weren't ready for. However, i had a huge problem with the choreography of the cross tumbling. There were so many times where I thought people were going to tumble right on top of each other. There should be a penalty for this because 9 times out of 10 it's how the routine is put together not the fault of the athletes.

Unfortunatly nothing will likely happen until someone gets hurts really bad. lets pray it doesn't come to that.

Anyone know what i mean?

I agree with Danny. I didn't go to worlds, but I have to say I want to sit back and watch beautiful dynamic cross tumbling. There have been many times where I am dreading watching poorly choreographed cross tumbling. I am so scared for the kids, I can't enjoy the skills being thrown. Does this make sense?

I agree also, there is always a few routines at EVERY competition that I have to gasp and close my eyes because two or more girls look like they are going to land on or run into each other and unfortunately I miss whatever the girls did because I had my eyes closed or looked away as a natural reaction. Then I don't really pay attention to the ones coming after them because my heart is still racing from the previous pass. I have always wondered if the judges have a similar reaction or if they don't see it like us mom's do. I agree that it should be some sort of a deduction, especially if you can hear the audience gasp!

There is a difference between dangerous situations and stunning choreography. There were a handful of teams at Worlds that would have tumblers from all 4 corners going at the same time. They would be at angles and all punch front (for example at the same time, then continue on. If everything is on count, then the crowd may still gasp (and that's what they're shooting for), but there is minimal danger.

I don't think we really want every tumbler having their own 8 count.

theres a difference

We all agree with that. there is a huge difference. I dont remember what team did it but the roundoff arabians through eachother around the girl standing in the center was really cool.

but I think Danny is talking about when people are going on the same cross pass. ITS SCARY to see someone turn to the crowd throwin a facial when they dont realize that a pair of double twisting feet are comin down inches from their head. that isn't stunning, its scary and I think it takes away from what is going, kind of like a dropped or bobbled pyramid during a tumblin section. does anyone agree with me?

just wat i think

i think that a coach DOESNT want a cheerleader to get hurt and that your health always comes before wining i have prof with my own experiences the cheerleaders are ready but as i know from MANY experiences that sometimes they have done the skill so many times but its the time to throw it they want to do it perfectly and try to hard or the wrong way also sometimes the floor trufly does mess a person up!! i think cheerleaders try there hardest with all of there heart when the hit that floor and only want to do there best for there team i would noe! i am a temporalrally retierd pyramids cheerleader ( danny might noe who this is)
well thats jst wat i think

I saw that poor girl from Encore fall to the ground in pain. I was soooo impressed that one of her teammates stopped performing to pick up her injured teammate and take her off the floor where she'd be safe. She's a hero!!!!! I hope to tell her that soon.........
That's what team work is all about!
