Congrats to all the Cali teams! You should all be commended for your dedication, hard work and committment!! As we have never attended a worlds championship, what does it take to win? Power, All American, Motions to name a few had awesome routines!! Just curious to those of you that know the skills, types of routines needed to win Gold.

Congratulations to all the California teams who went to Worlds, and Cheerforce Diamondz. Way to go in making the only team to make the top three, can't wait to see you on ESPN.
It's hard to say, exactly. You'll have to ask someone from Cheer Athletics what it takes to win at worlds- 3 World Champions of the 4 BIG DIVISIONS!!! It was INCREDIBLE!!!
If you had seen those teams...
wow...
This, my friends, is an indescribable feeling.
-Bryan Motions Large Coed cheergyms.com All American Team
Having been at ACE for 3 years now (and at Kentucky Elite for 6 years before that), I've seen some very, very good cheerleading.
But Ty Hill, the star tumbler for Cheer Athletics, was the most amazing thing I think I've ever seen during a routine. His straight leg Arabian had to be almost 6 feet in the air. Absolutely breathtaking.
So, are these kids that do off the hook tumbling learning these skills as gymnasts and converting to cheer or are they starting out in cheer and learning it from there?
I seem to see major differences iin tumbling techniques in the cheerleaders I know that have gymnastics vs cheer background.
Tye Hill was the "last pass" for Cheer Athletics. (They had some other fantastic tumblers that would normally be the star of the show, but he's on a whole other level.)
During rehearsal, he threw a toe touch, back handspring, whip, triple full like it was nothing. (That would be llegal in the actual performance.) There is no telling what he would have done if it weren't for those pesky rules limiting you to one flip and 2 twists. I heard he landed a quad at his gym.
I think that he is too old to do Large Coed again. He will be tough to replace, but they didn't seem to miss a beat when Matt McGrath graduated. No one thought that they would recover from that - I guess they proved everyone wrong. It is kind of funny to think back to all of those people saying that CA was "going downhill."
I heard that Tye was trying out for Cirque de Soleil. That would be sooo cool.
