Thank you for the compliment. It would have been nice to win but we'll never know how well we could have done since we weren't perfect. My hats off to Pyramids Senior Black though, they were incredible and deserved to take home that title.
Yes I am the coach and no, I am not mad because we didn't get cheated.
Pyramids was amazing on day 2 and nearly perfect. As good as we were, we made too many mistakes and again, deductions killed us. With .45 in deductions it's just not enough to win a division when another team is flawless.
Pyramids deserved to win that day. That's just the bottom line.
one thing that is great about you nelson is that you always tell it how it is and if i could give the best sportsmanship to any coach i have ever come in contact with it would be you
I agree with Admiration. Nelson does very well in the communication department with all of us. He will say it like it is, but with a wonderful 'bedside' manner. One that will leave you walking away knowing that he is proud of you and that you DID do a good job.
He's been a wonderful mentor/leader in his coaching (as well as all the others!). He's right. It's not what one team does on one day, but all year long. Sr. Maroon's progressed and got better with each competition as the season went on, that's what you want to see!
I am happy for Pyramids as they've been hot all season (and, a threat - Yikes!). And to see them perform on Saturday, it was like they barely showed up for the event - not like them at all. Don't know what was behind that, but it was nice to see them get it together and perform great on Sunday and end their season that way.

Thank you Nelson for the kind words. Sr Black has had their ups an downs this year. Saturdays performance was hard on the team as we had an injury in warm-ups. The team was very upset even though she insisted on performing. She did not do any tumbling just the stunts. She went to the hospital to be checked out. The team was dedicating the performance to her, but she returned from the hospital with clearance to perform. That pumped up the team. God they performed their absolute performance of the year.
