I'd first like to say CONGRATULATIONS to ALL of the Cheergyms.com high school teams that participated at USA Nationals over the weekend!!! Everyone did such an awesome job!!!
What a year this has been. From someone who's been around quite a while....I can't tell you how thrilled I was to experience a bit of the past. Nothing was more impressive than seeing all of the high school Cheergyms.com teams go down to support each other. Even teams that weren't competing on a particular day showed up to support those that were.
After being fortunate enough to be one of the ones who stayed and experienced the magical moment at GSSA, I'd have to say I never expected to get goose bumps at a cheer event quite so soon. Then came the picture after awards when ALL of the Cheergyms.com teams got together for a photo and broke out into the "Cheergyms.com" chant (not once, but twice).
Danny and Morton, I wish you could've been there....you would have been so proud!!!! I can never thank you enough for the programs that you run. Thank heavens for all of us that you were brave enough to follow your dreams so long ago when you envisioned your cheer gym(s). Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!
I have to agree, it feels so great for the cheerleaders to feel like they have some support out there, which you usually don't see to the same degree at a High School competition. Besides the Team Cheergyms teams cheering each other on, (even if they were in the same division) I saw so much goodwill and well wishes behind the scenes in the warm up room, too.
Congratulations to all the cheergyms high schools, I love to feel the camaraderie of cheering for all those teams over the years.
I want to say a special congrats to Soquel, you girls handled being one place out of finals so graciously (oooh, so close!!!) I was never so proud of you as when you braved coming back on Sunday to cheer on the other cheergyms teams that made finals in your division. That was a stellar moment in my cheer memory. I love you guys!!
