You might be misunderstanding the scores that are being discussed and posted in this topic. The original post lists "raw" scores, which means before any deductions are taken. The final scores, which determine placement, weren't tied. Take a look at the score sheets on GSSA web site. It might help you get a clearer picture.

Hope that helps.

Stunts
POWER 9 groups - 4 body positiions (all girls)
Cheerforce 7 groups - 4 body positions (with 4 boys)

Jumps to tucks
POWER triple toe backs
CF standing tucks

Pyramid
Power five body positions, 3 height increasing skills
CF 2 Body Positions 6 extended members - No height increasing skills

Dance/Motions
POWER - 9 transitions and multiple ground /foot work
CF - Same formation for 3 8 counts w-2/3 people during that time squated on knees while individual elvis members do their thing (costumes were fun)

Standing BH to fulls - Pretty Even, possible edge CF
Standing fulls - Edge CF
Standing bh to doubles - Power 1, CF 4

Crowd appeal - POWER

Now there are the skills, think what you want for what company likes what yada yada yada, MOVE ON. POWER has Vegas this weekend, CF is in Irvine. Concentrate on your routines and not the past cuz it aint changin and you both have bigger fish to fry in ORLANDO.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL

I agree with the majority of what you said but on the crowd appeal no. To me that is a matter of opinion. Bexcause youre going to get different answers from different people. And it would have been rude too if you had put CF and not POWER.

I am glad to see this topic. I agree about the crowd appeal....how many parents are in the crowd shouldn't determine "crowd appeal." If all these facts are true.....would somebody please explain how Power won by 20 points? THAT is the only thing that really seems hinky. Thanks

My thoughts

Rarely do competition companies post the actual scores for everyone to see. Normally parents and fans can go online and look at the rankings and the coaches are the ones that get the scores. I think that since it was a world bid situation this is different and the kids and parents deserve to know but I do feel that everyone needs to lay off the score difference. Your team has probably lost or won by such a margin in the past but you are just unaware of it. 20 points may seem like alot but if there were 5 judges that margin lessens per judge even if the high and the low was thrown out. So lets congradulate the winners and move on to the next competition that people will find something to complain about.

It is interesting how people tend to say "move on" when they don't have an answer. This is a legit question. If you can't answer it, that's ok. But I will decide what questions I have and what my motives are for wanting to know, if you don't mind. I am not knocking anyone, I am asking a question. Anyone with an actual answer, please respond. If I needed analysis, I would have made an appointment with a trained therapist. I see a math equation that doesn't add up. That's all. If I am missing something that applies, I would surely like to understand so I can better comprehend this sport I pay so much for my kid to participate in! Thanks!
