the scores ARE interesting. The judge that gave Power the highest score (way high) gave SBE the lowest (way low). Also, two judges put SBE in 3rd place and one judge put SBE in 2nd. Way strange considering there were only 5 judges and South Bay came in 5th.
how is it possible that all american and south bay had the same raw scores and south bay had much more difficulty like more doubles and standing fulls and all partner stunts? not bashing on all american just wondering how it`s possible.
6 partner stunts is better than 8 all girl stunts in a large coed division so im understand why there is dispute over this...how does POWER seem to always come up. ok we know theyre are good and no one si questioning that. can we not have to hear about them in EVERY reply to EVERY post..they got their bid and deserved it. leave it at that
Do not worry about things that cannot be changed. Everyone tried their hardest, sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn't. Cleanliness has to count for something or everyone would be throwing crazy passes and falling all over the place. SBE was good but someone on their team fell back and landed on his behind and touched down. If he can't land the pass he should have stuck with something he could land. I did see him fall in this way both times on Sunday, so clearly there is a consistency issue. Regardless of everyone's thoughts on who coulda shoulda woulda it has already happened and can't be changed. Now let's all move on to what we should have been doing all along....supporting each other!! The past cannot be changed but the future is yet to be written, let's all write it well...
GSSA is a LOT about spirit... but it seemed that cleanliness and spirit was most of what power had so it didn't matter too much about everything sticking perfectly... so they deserved it at GSSA!
Has your mother ever thought you that if you have nothing nice to say.. then don't say it at all. You need to stop and ask yourselves, if the shoe was on the other foot would you be complaining so much?
Seriously all this Worlds stuff is getting out of control. Nobody even talks about the other teams in other divisions and levels anymore. Yes this is cheerleading at it's most extreme level, but seriously GSSA is done and over with. Jamz is this weekend and should be excitingfor the teams to attend.
Stunts POWER 9 groups - 4 body positiions (all girls) Cheerforce 7 groups - 4 body positions (with 4 boys)
Jumps to tucks POWER triple toe backs CF standing tucks
Pyramid Power five body positions, 3 height increasing skills CF 2 Body Positions 6 extended members - No height increasing skills
Dance/Motions POWER - 9 transitions and multiple ground /foot work CF - Same formation for 3 8 counts w-2/3 people during that time squated on knees while individual elvis members do their thing (costumes were fun)
Standing BH to fulls - Pretty Even, possible edge CF Standing fulls - Edge CF Standing bh to doubles - Power 1, CF 4
Crowd appeal - POWER
Now there are the skills, think what you want for what company likes what yada yada yada, MOVE ON. POWER has Vegas this weekend, CF is in Irvine. Concentrate on your routines and not the past cuz it aint changin and you both have bigger fish to fry in ORLANDO.
Just like in football, majority only discuss the NFL... in ice skaing, majority only discuss the Olympics, In golf, everyone knows who Tiger Woods is but not too many of you can tell me who Tom Watson or Vijay Singh is. (If you know, that's good)
In the cheer world, travel to GA or TX and ask them who Pyramids or Motions or American is. What answer will you get? Alot of, Who?" because they most likely won't know. Now, this may change one day and this is the dilema that every gym faces, but to say that we shouldn't discuss Worlds this much is silly. It's the big dog of competitions. The cream of the crop, the feather in your cap......
It's discussed because people have the natural need to know who is best. And ESPECIALLY people who are striving for that success. People who want to be up there in that discussed few. The few who have "made it" and continue to keep us watching.
Yes, the other levels are exciting, important and riviting at times. But they aren't discussed quite like the level 5 teams vying for the one coveted spot that we all want. We wouldn't have celeberties if we didnt' care about "who is who" in whichever field we were discussing. It's nature for humans to be competitive. And in a competitive sport such as cheer, you will naturally have the need to know who is the best and how they got there. This makes Worlds such a riviting topic.
Keep working at your skills and you and your team may just be the next ones discussed all over the country. But quit asking people to stop talking about Worlds. What's next, quit breathing?????
Actually teams in the South do know who Power, American and cheergyms.com. Especially since alot of the major gyms in California compete at Cheersport, NCA, and UCA. Yes they are not a household name like CA and Spirit of Texas, but it will come soon.
uum could it be that i was just having a bad day? i can't believe i come to this message board and see that someone is talking abut me touchign down as if those thigns dont happen. obviously i didnt think that it would happen if i threw it while competing for a worlds bid.thats kidna messed up of someone who MOST LiKELY does nto have a double themselves is bashing me. seriously who are u to tell me "i have a consistency issue"?
this is honestly getting out of hand. Think about the spirit and sportsmanship that was showed during the super six competition. All the teams showed amazing skill, technique, and creativity. When it came down to it Power got the bid and cheerforce and All American got the at large bids. It really isn't our decision, it is the paid professionals who are selected to decide who won. We should stop arguing about it because it's getting old and people are being hurt. Serrel, you're off the hook don't worry about someone saying you have a consistency issue. Honestly, this isn't what cheerleading is about. All the teams did awesome and if their is conversation about it on here it should be positive, considering all the teams were crazy good.
