One thing to remember is that all the teams have been working very hard and will most likely come to the competition with a mix of nervousness, anxiousness, confidence, and focus (as well as many other things) but no matter what they will be very focused on their own team and what they need to do in order to perform at their best. So if you pass by a team and they don't automatically smile or wish you luck...lets all try not to take that as them "staring you down" or being rude or not supportive. So lets all support each other this upcoming weekend, cheering on every team, and wishing our competitors luck or congratulating when we can...but lets also remember that the main focus of going to the competition should not be "oh wait, i need to go wish good luck to this team...omg, did someone from so and so team just walk by?!? i was staring off into space because i was visualizing my routine and so i forgot to smile at them! oh no!" ...Of course thats an exaggeration!...but how about everyone just focus on your own team instead of what all the other teams may or may not be saying or doing, and of course in the process, support one another.
Lets also remember that some of these kids may be competing 6 or more times this weekend (if they are an All Star, on All American, High School, crossover and make it to the Super Six). If everyone remembers the "Golden Rule" we should have a great weekend. Good luck to everyone (not just the senior divisions).
Does anyone know where these extra guys come from when they need to add to fit into the Large Coed (5+guys) division? Are they cross overs from their Small Coed team?
Worlds has put this new cheer phenomenon into motion. CF small and large coed are almost the same exact kids. They have one male on their large (or sometimes small coed team ie.. the one with the 35 members on it) The small small coed that one boy doesn't compete. Pro spirit has done it now with their small senior and "large senior" which is their small senior and best large junior girls, Power small senior and Large senior are the same girls plus small junior girls too. This doubles the chance at bids. CA made the wondercats which I believe is small coed and a compilation of sr.prep, panthers, wildcats. It's all legal. With regards to saturdays competition, this puts an interesting spin on the super six and how they will compete for this bid. In my personal opinion both "teams" from CF and Power will make the super six, leaving only two slots for other contenders, All American and probably SBE (again my opinion). However, these kids will have to perform within minutes of each other and suddenly the advantage of having the same talented kids perform twice to up your chances may backfire. Kids will be tired, stressed, and not possibly perform as well. Anyways it should be good!!
In vegas i bumped both my teams up a division so i put my large small coed "diamondz" as large coed they really only had 4 boys we added a 5th but took him back out. Then we put our small small coed "rockies" as large small coed cause they werent offering that division cause of the worlds bid there.
For Gssa i am leaving diamondz in there real division and added some of those members from my own gym lol to rockies to make the large coed team just to see what happens.
