I agree with Nor Cal Coach. South Bay is amazing, they just need to clean everything up. Love your choreography etc. just make it all sharper. Alot of this comes down to coaching style and philosophy of the program. Some programs are all about flash and less about clean technique. Others are all about technique and less about flashy routines. The amazing programs are those that have it all!!

I agree with you that at the beginning of the season South Bay needed to clean up their routine. However, I have watched their last 2 competitions and they are FAB!!! They even got a standing ovation at the UCA comp. Everyone thought they were incredible. If they look at GSSA they way they looked at UCA they will get a bid of some kind, no doubt!

i definetly agree if SBE cleans up a throws a awesome clean routine they will recieve a bid. I also was at the last comp. UCA and they had more energy then i have seen from them all year! I also really hope Pyramids Coed does really well they really have improved and shown how good they have become latley.

I have no doubt SBE will make the Super Six, I do though think it might be tough to get that paid bid. Not being mean, the UCA comp SBE attended was a very short comp and not really any big name teams where there, so it comes to no surprise they were the hit of the day. Power, hands down, is cleaner and has stronger stunting as far as tumbling still Power is a little cleaner. I have seen both teams recently and still believe if Power is on they will get the bid. I have only seen Cheer Force by video, but they looked good. All the cheergyms.com teams will give the rest a run for that bid....GOOD LUCK To ALL!!!

yes UCA was a small compition, i think people were just saying SBE performed very well. I think that if South Bay dosent get the Paid bid POWER will and SouthBay will definetly get an unpaid pid. and to me a bid is a bid --- yes paid is wonderful but just getting a bid is the accomplishment.

Just getting the bid SHOULD be quite an accomplishment, but as we have seen and read, it can be easier than it's supposed to be (example, Jamz Nationals). At least for the large co-ed. But it's kind of like divisions in football. Some are weaker than others, allowing a team to make the playoffs that really shouldn't be there. Or maybe a better way to phrase that would be they wouldn't be there if all divisions/competitions were equally tough. So my point is there are other sports that fall into this same situation. But one big difference between the two is that in football if you don't make the playoffs, you don't get to quickly join another division to try your luck there. I think this entire bidding process needs some work, wouldn't you say? But it's a start.

I use to be excited about this competition this weekend (gssa) . After all the ugliness that has been going on on these boards I just cant wait for it to be over.

I want that bid as much as the next person but now all I want is for the knots in my stomach to go away.

I hope that people will be nice to us and other teams wont stare us down . God I wish I didn't have to go.

It is sad that there is an ugly side to the business of giving out free bids. It's fair to some, unfair to others, divides organizations, divides teams in organizations (afterall, how do you think the other teams in your organization feel about the main focus being on your level 5 teams)? Seems like all teams should be treated equally ... they pay the same tuition.

Reading a post like the one before this will hopefully bring the focus back to why we all cheer to begin with -- to go out there and do your best! No matter what the reward is (bids, trophies), no matter what level. And to have fun!! You gotta have fun.

Why would anyone stare you down? Yes, you all want it that's why your working so hard. Believe me, everyone has knots, that is a normal part of competition. No worries...

What, I think what the post you're responding to meant was if they get the bid, others may think it was not deserving, and stare them down. I would hope that would NOT happen. Who are they to say what's deserving and what's not. Everyone is playing by the rules that have been setup by the higher ups. If there's something unfair about it, don't take it out on the teams, it's not their fault there may be flaws with the system. So if you win the bid and others don't think you deserve it, prove them wrong! Go to Worlds and show everyone that you deserve to be there!

And let's all be nice to each other at the competitions! At our last competition, we were so happy to see old teammates and were all hugging and taking pictures. Yet the rest of the team was looking at us like they couldn't believe we were there!!! Everyone wants to say "Good Luck" to each other on this message board... but your actions prove otherwise. Body language speaks volumes!!! Lets all be nice. We are all cheerleaders. That's it. It's bad enough the rest of the world loves to stereotype us as airheaded, dumb, etc.... let's not do it to each other.... Yep, we're allout to win. But can't we win off the mat too?

well the weekend is right around the corner and all ive been hearing is whose going to make it to the super 6 cheerforce sbe both power stars extreme but the thing is its just an educated guess i love it when people say this team is getting in what happens if they go and screw up what happens if cheer force drops some stunts power fall on tumbling stars forget their dance well then the super 6 may not have any of them if they all hit a clean routine then their is no doubt in my mind everyone of those teams will get in so this is the deal. go there give it all you got hit a perfect routine and let the judges decide who is better. dont make one mistake making the judges go well jumps there was a mistake and put a 9 down instead of a 10 i want perfect routines so we can truely see who the best team is and if this happens i do believe whatever team wins will represent cali and have my full support. so everybody lets do it 6 perfect routines seperated only by who the judges beleive to be the better team. good luck to all

I think the nervousness of the upcoming competition is a good thing. This kind of competitive spirit is what is needed to improve Califirnia cheerleading. I am excited to see everyone doing their BEST. Whoever wins I know the other teams will be happy for them and I do not anticipate any stare downs. Good Luck!
