It would be GREAT to have a California team win at Worlds. I think someone a while ago mentioned this as well -- the problem is there are so many good gyms to choose from in CA, all the talent is spread out. Look at the states who are winning and the amount of quality gyms available; I'm guessing there are far less to choose from (Kentucky would be a good example). Wouldn't it be great to take the cream of the crop in CA and put them all on one team? Or have a Northern CA team and a Southern CA team, both would be awesome. It would be really interesting to do a little research to see how many gyms are available in Kentucky and Texas (for example). When you have so many cheerleaders to choose from because everyone is flocking to your gym, you get the best. I think that is where CA is at a disadvantage, when it comes to winning at Worlds. But imagine if we had all the talent we've seen from various gyms on one (or two) CA teams -- we would rule!!
But we do pretty good given the circumstances, don't get me wrong! Go golden state!!
To A lot of bull wrote: Boy, something about CA really seems to bother you or am I off base. Just for the record, they won Grand Program Champs last weekend so I would say that they are still the best, at least in California. Not that others aren't great programs too but that award speaks for itself. Teams have good days and bad, we all know it and have seen it. Does that mean that "others" are catching up? No. It means that a team had a good or a bad day. It happens. I'm sure it has happend to you and your team from time to time. Whatever the reason, it happens even to the best of teams. Why is it that CA should be exempt from that and what is it about all of this Nor Cal stuff. When I cheered, we didn't talk about So Cal. or Nor Cal, we just thought "California" in general. Why the division and is that why people seem happy when CA, especially if the Coed team, doesnt' have a great day, because they are from Southern California? Is it the tumblers that competed with them or are they the measurment that teams compare themselves to? Just wondering.
Well you won program award basically becasue you have more advanced teams then other gyms. does that make you the best no. you got beat by cheer force small coed twice in a row not bagging on u or nething but yes your team is amazing awsome and entertaining but saying ur the best gym because you have the most advance team is a bunch of bull. i could put together 6 advanced with 3 doubles on each team and decent stunts motions and other aspects of cheer and beat amazing gyms that have like 2 or 3 advacned teams at teh program award just because we can get mroe points through our advanced teams score then they can through 2 or 3 advacned teams and the rest intermediate and novice team to prove you're the best you need to beat the best cheer force is doing good at that beating u guys and mavericks and champion do i consider them the best in cali no i havent seen how they stack up against power and sbe if cheerforce gets the bid then i think they won the right to say they are the best if sbe wins it they have the right to say they are the best adn same with power whoever wins gssa basically is the best its the best teams going against eachother so ya
They said the CA received Grand Champs. And to do that they take the highest 3 scores from every team at the comp. In this case they won for Large Gym. And maybe they did have more advanced teams there but only the 3 highest scores were taken. And they were not the only program that had 3 advanced teams there. So, I guess as was said before, per the award received at the competition, they were the best. And correct me if I'm wrong, but all of the teams that you said are going to GSSA also were at American Showcase except for SBE and were in the mix for Grand Champs and CA took it.
American Showcase said they were the best program, American Grand said they were the best program and Spirit Sports said they were the best program. And that was for just this year alone. Don't know how many they received in previous years but every competition I've been at where there was such an award, Ca won it. Let's be honest about it, California Allstars keeps taking home the trophy. That must say something don't ya think?
Ca was the PROGRAM CHAMPIONS not GRAND CHAMPIONS . To determine program champion I believe they took the 6 highest scores from the large gym catagory and grand champion was awarded to CF in the senior advanced coed catagory. Either way both teams are highly skilled and would represent california well.
Wasn't it West Coast Mavericks that won PROGRAM CHAMPION at the American Grand ? CA got it at American Showcase and Spirit Sports and yes this does say that they are a strong program but what is it that you are implying ? Is it that there are no other programs around that are as good as CA because I can think of at least 6.
