I think there is so much hype one way or the other. Whoever hits on that day will get it. It could be Cheergyms, it could be POWER, it could be South Bay, it could be Cheerforce.... It could be anyone. I hope that everyone has a great two weeks of practice and good luck to everyone.
Teams that I thought were great at American Grand were-- California Small Girl. They are so clean. They never make mistakes or it seems like it .Fierce was really good two. Those girls really know how to stunt. I think all of their fliers are made of rubber becasue they are so flexible. Cali Coed was super fun to watch too. I heard they lost a lot of people from NCA, but should be on their game for USA. Cheerforce was fun to watch too. Just my thoughts
Dont make up excuses for teams that dont win . You either hit your routines or you dont. Two years ago CA. teams couldnt be beat even if they screwed up .Well to me that says that the rest of cali is catching up or in some cases they have caught up. So lets stop comparing EVERYONE to CA. because they are NOT the best anymore.
Besides that I dont see other gyms in CALIFORNIA flying in TUMBLERS to be on their teams. CA has INCREDIBLE teams but so do other programs.
Honestly...I think that POWER's Lg Sr team could get a higher score than their small...I have to say that I love their small seniors routine...but it makes a difference to have the numbers on the floor...even if the large team gets the bid, i dont think people realize that POWER is going to JAMZ, they may be giving a paid bid to only a lg coed team, but an at large WITH $10,000 to a Lg Sr team and an at large with $5,000 to a small senior team. If POWER gets a paid pid for lg sr.'s at gssa, and an At Large at JAMZ...most (possibly all) of the girls are paid for because most girls double up on the Large and small team...or it may work the other way around..small gets it at GSSA and Large gets it at JAMZ...Either way..POWER is going to be amazing...and represent Northern California very well!!Im not from POWER but I have many friends on both Senior teams...and I wish them the Best of LUCK!!! My prediction on the top 6 is this:
1. POWER lg sr 2. POWER sm sr 3. South Bay Elite Lg Coed 4. Cheergyms.com All American Sm Coed 5. Stars Extreme Sm Coed 6. Pyramids Lg Coed or 6. American Cheer lg Sr (If they dont get a paid bid at USA.. they have an at large bid from cheersport...But I think they could have took the paid bid if they didnt have a legiality deduction the first day at cheersport)
i personally dont think that Cheerforce could beat Southbay. SBE beat them at the american grand. I hear that cheerforce routine is amazing but from what ive seen its pretty good. But for one sbe has a lot more guys, and more tumbling. All stunts are partner stunts as well. I watched SBE at UCA and thought they had a great performance. GOOD LUCK TO ALL TEAMS! cant wait for GSSA
quote: "Power did beat CA small advanced but it was the CA large coed level 5 that won that at "large bid" in vegas and now cheerforce has beaten them twice at the last two competitions by winning grand champions in their respective divisions.
I believe these two teams (power lg and cheerforce diamondz) will have to battle it out at gssa. GOOD LUCK TO BOTH TEAMS" _____________________________________________________________
yes cheerforce placed higher in score at the past 2 competitions, and southbay lrg coed beat them at American grand.
I really think this bid could go to any of these teams, and I think many of them deserve it. Too bad there arent more bids!
I love this competition. The Super Six is going to be intense. And the great thing about it, you have to be good three times in a row. As was evident at Cheersport this past weekend, many teams, including elite teams such as F5, GA, etc., have a hard time being consistent and putting on two solid performances. Yet now, at GSSA, you have to be perfect three times in a row.
Just getting into the Super Six will be tough. That's a lot of pressure. There are teams with incredible talent such as American, Cheerforce, Power and the All American team to name a few; but teams such as Motions and Pyramids who don't match up in talent definitely can pull off some surprises and take a spot from those teams. Take a look at Pyramids; at Cheersport they took one place over GymTech Outlaws (coached by two time World's Champion Alex Fernandez, formly of Miami Elite). What's to say they won't be perfect three times in a row and pull it off?
And then, once you are in Super Six...well, you get one shot. Not only do you have to catch all your breaks (trust me, I know all about this) you have to be perfect if you want to be considered the best of 5 other teams. Sure, it sounds easy enough, but realistically how many teams competing that weekend are hitting their full out routine 10 out of 10 times at practice?
Now so and so may have beaten so and so at a previous competition, so they obviously are going to win, right? Not neccessairly. Motions beat SBE coed back in November, does that mean we're a lock to win at GSSA? Nope. SBE beat Cheerforce at the American Grand, does that mean that Motions is a lock to beat Cheerforce at GSSA? Nope. Pyramids has beaten Motions at the past three competitions, does that mean they're a lock to take all three down? Nope. History doesn't matter anymore, what matters is what you put on the floor three times next weekend.
I for one am extremely excited for this competition. Although Motions is now up against a huge obstacle with the loss of two incredible members, we're still going to go for it, as is everyone else. This competition is going to be a great one and I hope that next year GSSA will hold the same competition.

really because i dont think that sbe was really that good. {i loved their dance though} and besides diamondz are a small coed that went large for that one comp. and they dont do single basing because they dont have as many guys as sbe. and if you have seen diamondz lately you would see they are a forced to be reckoned with!
i agree with nelson 100% its a coin toss whose going to win. its a competition just like everyother one. anyone one of the teams can have a bad day and another a great day and then totally reverse it the next day in cheer other comps dont matter k you won good job you lost try harder. but the thing that differs from comp to comp is one thing how you perform i highyl doubt you will hit a routine exactly the same twice in a year. you're always changing. one comp u might fall. one u might be flawless one u might give a little more energy one u might be more clean these all play factors in who wins the worse team in cali (i dont know who it is) could win a bid just by showing up hitting a flawless routine when others such as us power american or ne other team compteting messes up. this is how this competitions going to end its not going to be who had more difficulty its going to be who was the cleaness adn who performed best. one bobble could end ur chacnces of winning literally from 1st to second place is probally going to be less then 1/10 of a point its going to be a very close comp and whoever wins deserves to win and ill be happy to support u guys in representing cali in worlds. and one other thing dont keep bringing up us in vegas we didnt do well in that comp so to say well they lost this comp well we won all teh teams who beat us at the next two comps they were at but trust me not by much mavericks is still right on our butts i love u guys mavericks best sportsmanship ive seen in a long time adn ya well im outa here peace out
i've either heard or seen great things about all of the teams competing for the bid, and i just CAN'T WAIT to watch it all happen. I'm looking forward to watching Cheerforce's improvement since american grand since they seem to be the team that has really jumped up this year, and of course American is always one of the best, as well as watching Power's always consistent and winning routines, and since its been a while since i've watched any of the cheergyms teams (pyramids, motions, and all american) from what is being said on these boards i'm sure that they have all stepped it up since the last time i saw them compete, and i can't wait to watch our coed team take the floor as they have improved tremendously over the last few months. I have nothing but excitement and anticipation in watching these teams battle it out. With no doubt all these athletes have worked their butts off for this and i'm sure that NONE of their coaches are letting them underestimate their competitors or taking anything for granted in how they will place.
So when someone says "i don't think so and so will beat so and so", thats a valid opinion and there are many reasons to argue either way, but there is no way of knowng until the competition unfolds. There are SO MANY factors that go into how a team will place against another that there is no reason to get upset at someone else's guess at the rankings, because all it is is their opinion and a guess of the results to a competition that NO ONE will know the outcome to until it actually happens.
Yes im sure all teams have been working just as hard as we have. This comp. is going to be soooo interesting and intese im really excited. To see all of us at our best. But really i think we should all be suporting eachother i mean its not a everyday thing that cali teams get bids! soo whoever wins we should be happy with even though i hope its my team but who dosent soo everyone work hard and bring your best performance to the floor soo we can really show everyone what cali is about.
Boy, something about CA really seems to bother you or am I off base. Just for the record, they won Grand Program Champs last weekend so I would say that they are still the best, at least in California. Not that others aren't great programs too but that award speaks for itself. Teams have good days and bad, we all know it and have seen it. Does that mean that "others" are catching up? No. It means that a team had a good or a bad day. It happens. I'm sure it has happend to you and your team from time to time. Whatever the reason, it happens even to the best of teams. Why is it that CA should be exempt from that and what is it about all of this Nor Cal stuff. When I cheered, we didn't talk about So Cal. or Nor Cal, we just thought "California" in general. Why the division and is that why people seem happy when CA, especially if the Coed team, doesnt' have a great day, because they are from Southern California? Is it the tumblers that competed with them or are they the measurment that teams compare themselves to? Just wondering.
