Hey Marlon! (or anyone who tumbles)

I know you just learned how to tumble recently, within the last couple years and I was wondering if you had any tips, tricks, advice, etc. I am going to try and I really would like to learn how, but my biggest problem is that I am a bit nervous that I will get hurt and then not be able to cheer at all.
So any advice, from anyone, would be greatly appreciated...I really enjoyed cheering this year and look forward to being ready for try-outs for next year.
Thanks to all!

You need to find a place that you can practice skills and learn new ones. I went to Ariel gymnastics a few times in Vacaville, and I learned quite a bit. But most of my tumbling has come from doing it EVERY SINGLE DAY for atleast an hour or two. Hope this helps. :)

The key to not getting hurt is being physically in shape before attempting skills and also progressing from basics. You should master basics first and then move into harder skills which greatly reduces the chance of injury. Also, repetition and persistence is key.

Good luck!

Well I'm taking privates and classes and I had my first one and I did a standing backhandspring (with a spotter). Thanks for the advice, it is very welcome.
