Not only are there results the next day, but there are also videos of the performances? That's crazy!! Most competitions will try to sell you a video for $800, but here it's on for free?
Just to compare...I've been checking USA website for results of competitions that were January 7. They just now posted them. Wow 5 weeks! Now that's catering to your customer base! NOT!
I love it. Leave it to Danny and Morton to take it a step forward. My daughter enjoyed watching the videos of the teams that she was unable to see and I enjoyed taking a second look at everyone and the teams I missed. WAY TO GO!!!
Yes, I'm also impressed the videos are up for all to see and so soon! Awesome job whoever set those up! I agree with Wow, it would be great if other competitions followed suit and posted them on their websites for all to see. But, how does one get a copy of their team if they want? Couldn't just download or "save as" from the web because the resolution wouldn't be good (too hard to see). Will anyone be putting together a DVD for sale at a cheap price? Just for those of us who either forgot their videocamera or didn't want to deal with it.
I can see two sides, thinking about it, of competitions posting videos of the performances -- if it wasn't your best performance (I think a few teams Sunday would admit it was not theirs) you may not want everyone and their mother seeing you at your "not so best", or maybe your worse, lol. I'm just thinking in general terms, issues that may be raised if other comps posted everyone's performances. It's interesting to think about!
I agree with you about the not so good performances for all to see. That happens to be the case with my team. At the same time I am glad that they can see that sometimes you do not hit a perfect routine and that is ok as well, true it will not get you any trophies but it is still a learning experience.
I agree, I was just thinking of the others on the outside (like the rest of the nation, lol). They may not know that the mistakes made that particular day are not the usual, you know? Folks who have never seen a particular team but has seen their name mentioned regularly can now see a video of who they were talking about -- not just cheergym teams but all who were at the competition. For a few (more than a few?) it's catching them on a bad day and might be misleading. That's the only point I was trying to make. But most of us can tell when it's a talented team on an off day.
Wouldn't it be great if there was a site dedicated just to showing video clips from WHOEVER wanted to post one (they could choose which to show)? All teams/organizations could be in alphabetical order. I'm guessing this site would get numerous hits, don't you think? Maybe it could charge a very small fee for maintenance/upkeep of the site to be paid by any organization who wants to participate. The idea inspired, of course, by the videos posted here from Sunday.
I LOVE this idea! I know my family can't see a lot of the teams we hear about from the south, midwest and east (okay most any team outside of California :) ).
Go to the following web address and search on cheerleading. So this idea is already out there and is where Cheergyms.com has the Spirit Spectacular videos posted.
Thanks for the information Terri. I'll take a look at the site. The way cheergyms posted the videos from their competition is not what I had intended (they are posting videos of teams from their specific event, that particular day). But if anyone can post any video clip they choose, and if the teams are easy to find, then that is what I had in mind. I would love to see this kentucky team I keep hearing about! Maybe they'll post something, unless they already have it on their web site (which I would have to google to find).
