Hey Morton, I was woundering how you are able to put motions and your all american team in the same division?
The rules say you can not cross compete kids in the same division. From what you have said before all your gyms are registered under the same name makeing them one gym. Which makes motions and the allamerican team not able to compete in the same division.
The only way to fix it is to stick motions as large coed just woundering what your plans are.
TO CONCERENED :If that is true then that would totally be UNFAIR. I also read in a resent post that Morton considers cheergyms.com one organization which is why he said he would be able to send 2 teams to worlds from the SAME gym and they would not be from 2 different gyms which would be against the rules for worlds.
If this is just an error on the schedule which I hope it is then I apologize if I offended anyone.
The rules for GSSA (as I have read them) are that the same competitor (same kid) cannot compete twice in the same division.
So, regardless of what uniform (which Gym) they wear for each performance, it's just the person that matters. The same person cannot compete in the same division twice.
So as long as no one from Motions is on the All American team, it's perfectly fine for them to both be in the same division. One Gym can have 2 teams in the same division, just as long as NONE of the kids cross compete on both teams.
However, if even just 1 Motions kid is on the All American team, then one of those teams will have to move out of the division.
I'm sure it's just a typo on whatever list you're looking at. Since Morton is GSSA's Northern California Assistant Director, there's no way he'd ask for special treatment from GSSA to ignore a rule just for his Gym.
That would look sooooo bad. There's no way Morton would do that.
Why is that controversy ? Nelson only came on the boards with his reply at 11:50 and people should know if this was going to be a problem or not. All teams work really hard and deserve to compete at a fair competition. not to mention the money being spent.
If you're looking at the atlanta schedual, we're competing coed 5-12 so we dont have to compete against top gun and all of them....but 5-12 isn't smal, its just isnt extra large...but almost all of the smaller sompetitions with less co-ed lv.5 teams, over 5 guys(wich we have 6) is large co-ed
