Well truthfully, I think that the little extra "goodies" keep the girls who don't win a bit happier. You do want them to come back. Sometimes getting something in return makes you feel as if you didn't TOTALLY waste your money and time. I know it sounds silly but in a way it works.
The teams that are really in contention to win don't care all too much about the "gifts" cause 1st place is all they want. It's so funny how even getting 2nd isn't good enough. But it's still nice coming home with SOMETHING. I have a Senior Advanced cheerleader and a Mini Level 1 cheerleader and my little one is soooooooooo happy getting the medals. I hope that doesn't stop.
CheerPros, even though their competition as a whole was pretty badly run, their jackets are ADORABLE. They are sweatshirt type but have the sequins on the back. Now that's original. My daughter never wears her heavy, leather sleeved one, but that other one is an every day type. But last year at SurfJam we only got hooded sweatshirts that had silk screen in ONE color on the front. Yuk....
