I went to Jamz competition at Davis. I can honestly say I am usually not interested in the hip hop teams. But-OMG I was blown away by the Royal Open Hip Hop Team. They hands down deserved the choreography award. Not only that, but they tore up the floor like it was the last time they were every going to get to dance!!!!
Don't everybody jump on me for saying this.... Yes they were excellent. My one concern is that there are alot of young kids and I find the suggestive moves made by some of these dance teams objectionable. This past weekend some of the moves were way over the top.
No worries. I am a mom and I agree that some of the moves can be way too suggestive. This was an older team, so it wasn't young kids doing the moves. Although there were young kids in the audience. I just enjoyed their choreography and the way they just put all their passion into it!!!
Well if the coach is letting them do that, then its the gyms fault for letting them do that and the parent's who continue to enroll there child at the gym.
I agree. But remember this. At one time showing your legs was taboo also. Women wore a body suit to the beach and skirts down to their ankles. Yep, some push the limits, but if the gym is taking good care of their kids and the competitions don't mark down for it..... well......
Remember the topic about the belly showing with the uniforms? And how some thought they were too revelaing??? And these were the same people were letting these girls go to the beach or pool in smaller swim suits? What a topic that was..... I am guessing that these same peope don't go to the dances at the schools. Trust me..... these cheer routines are NOTHING compared to what your kid does at those dances. At least most of those kids.
Times change, style changes, it's ineveitable. And every step of the way parents are gasping. Oh My Lord, Elvis and the Beatles DID corrupt the world! It's all their fault!!!!

Has anyone heard of Southern Ohio Rebels they are deff. the best HIp HOP team Ive ever seen in my LIFE!?! Everywhere they go they get 1st, grandchamps, or most entertaining. They are like machines. Their music cut off at athletic championships in cincinnati and they kept dancing and counting together and hit perfect. I wuold like to see a team compete with them!! they embarass everyone they compete against.
