Did you know that there are only 12 teams attending ACA Nationals competiton this weekend and ACA will be giving out 2 paid bids and 4 unpaid bids. Not bad odds compared to the 36 teams that competed at American Grand in Vegas for 1 paid bid and 2 unpaid bids.
Does anyone know how USASF determines how many bids a competition company can give out?
I think thats fair, anyone could have gone there if they wanted to. And with teams like Spirit of Texas small coed (last years world champion) and Cheer athletics large coed, I definatly think its fair to have more bids. I think quality of teams mean so much more than quantity in these divisions!
Coach, you're right. It's based on the number in attendance from the previous year. It just so happens that they're isn't a large attendance this year due to 2 other competitions on the same weekend. All of them offering bids to Worlds. Now, based on this year's attendance, they should not be giving this many bids next year and American Grand should be giving more. We'll see.
Ok, well I don't remember reading USASF that bids correlated with the amount of people attending a competition. Teams should be thankful Cheer Athletics, pro spirit and Spirit of Texas are staying there to compete and not coming to California. Why even question those bids since we all know those teams can go anywhere and get them.
I wasn't questioning "those bids" from ACA or saying that the teams attending weren't worthy of a bid. To me it just didn't make since that they were giving so many bids out when the competition was so small and others are so large. I knew there had to be a formula to the numbers and just wanted to know what it was.
It is only a matter of time when more teams like Cheer Athletics, Pro Spirit or Spirit of Texas come to CA for a bid to worlds. If they are willing to go to Vegas why not CA. And World Cup was at American Championships in Anaheim last year and Texas Lone Star received their bid the last two years from USA in Anaheim.

World cup only came because their trip to Florida had to be canceled. Also USA Nationals is so up and down from year to year. In addition there are other nationals that are offering world bids, regardless of size. A national competition that is very very competitive is Jamfsest. Stingray all stars and Ace of Alabama just won bids and that nationals was HUGE!! There were about 13 large senior level 5 teams.
