yea i definetly agree there routine didnt stick out i thought they were better last year... and i dont think that it was right to have college boys fly in to be on California...from louisville...
I don't think that the routine was done by Jay Jasper. He did their routine last year and I heard that he is back at Champion Outlaws. I saw the Outlaws and their routine is good but they didn't look good. Oh well, would you rather have a flashy routine that you can't hit or hit a solid routine. I'd rather hit my routine. I imagine that the Mavericks will be changing their routine to get ready for Nationals. As far a California, well if they are of legal age then more power to them. They're just using their resources. But it did give them an advantage to have those college trained guys on the squad, I'm sure. Perhaps others should do the same if that is what they are going to be competing against. "When in Rome, do as the Romans do" seems appropriate in this case. Don't ya think?? It's too late to say how unfair it was if you lose and they win by out smarting everyone and taking advantage of the rules. It may not seem right, but it's legal.
It seems that we were having this same type of conversations about crossovers but then it was called "stacking."
I too was at Am grand and even though I didnt like what CA did they did not break any of the rules and since this is a transitional year for the new rules they will not be allowed to do it next year .. HOWEVER they still would have won because they were SOLID that weekend.
From what I have heard all the large coed teams were very close in points.
I also remember SBE had some falls and TD on day one but I did not see them on day 2. I remember thinking that they were not as good as I thought they would be maybe it was just a bad day for them?
I guess you didn't see one of the College guys bust it big on his double on day 1...
I think they would have won also. Not because they were solid, but the other teams had far too many mistakes. I think SBE started out good but couldn't stay consistant due to injuries, etc. It happens. But as far as being close in points, I don't know, what would you consider close? And does that really matter? For me a win is a win and a loss is a loss. No matter how close the points are. But maybe that is a way to look at it when a team wants to feel good about their loss. Funny, you don't hear the team that won talk about how close the points were...Hummmm.
No I didnt see him bust it but I wish I had I think I would have enjoyed it. AND yes mr viewer it was close and all that means is it is nice to see that other west coast teams can compete with ca as long as they dont make the mistakes that were made. By the way who do you think could have won if ca wasnt there and those teams had hit their routines and why?
Well my view was this 1. nobody was gonna beat cheer athletics they were just that GOOD
2. small coed- kc cheer or cheerforce should have got first place NOT wcm (and yes I know that kc got 1st place but that was only after the M.C. of the american grand came out to apoligize that they had screwed up and needed to apoligize to kc cheer and award them first place also ONLY they were already on the plane ride home).
3. large coed- ca allstars ---as far as 2nd place both SBE and CHEERFORCE made mistakes that cost them but I still dont know who I would have picked for 2nd.
SBE, no doubt. They performed with more confidence and had better skills than any of the other lg coeds. If not for some issues, I think that it would have been very interesting. I enjoyed watching Cheer Force. Their little tumbler girl was more than impressive. However, I don't see that many west coast teams will be able to beat Cali Allstars if they don't come ready to put it all out on the mat. They have a determination that is rarely seen in most teams. Watch them perform. That is what sets them apart in California. Even if they don't hit clean, they make you think that they did. This also effects teams that they go up against. It's a little something called, "intimidation." I sometime thing that teams loose it for themselves because they go mental when they know that California Allstars are competing. I guess it is nice to say that your team was close to CA in points, but wouldn't it be nice to simply be able to say, "we won?" Afterall, California Allstars weren't giving bids and trophys, they were competing for them with everything they had, (including the college guys:)
Sorry, I just re-read your post, WV-Huh. When you said Ca, did you mean California Allstars are Cheer Athletics? I thought you were talking about lg coeds.
One thing i was wondering about gssa and the top 6 teams competing against eachother. are the teams scored the same way? i mean what if you have a small senior team competing against a large coed team? is it fair?
Yeah, I was wondering about that too. There is different criteria used when judging a coed and all girl team and also a difference simply between small coed and large coed...is it fair to have the compete against each other even though they won't be competing against each other at worlds? I mean I do think that the best teams should get the bids, regardless of their divisions but I'm not sure if this is the best and fairest way to give out the bids. Anybody have ideas?
I think that each team will be judged based on their division rules and requirements. So if a Large Sr Coed team gets the highest score based on what a Large Sr Coed team should do than they get the bid.
yeah the gssa comp is going to be out of control. the super six....that will be one of the best comps in this area to see. it will be interesting since pyramids and motions co ed are so good this year, and then they are also going to be going against the all american team, who really isnt anymore impressive then motions or pyramids anyway and then if they make the top six, they'll be competing against southbay who will probobly also make the top six, BUT THEN, competing against POWER all girl, who in december at GSSA rocked the floor. It will be great to see. Do you think Pyramids or Motions has a chance to get a bid?
Does anyone have any idea on how many bids are actually being given out to attend Worlds this year? And although i know it will always be a BiG thing, do u think that Worlds might loose some of its "specialness" if more and more bids are being given out and its not AS hard to get one (not to say it will ever be easy to get one.)
they DID rock the floor at GSSA. did you count all 20 touch downs from large and small? yea, no one is perfect. my team made a few mistakes too, but you cant base your opinions on who is going to be in that top six at this point. no one in nor cal is ready to compete for a bid.. and we know that especially after watching GSSA's Nor Cal Classic on December 10th.
i think there are a few teams in Nor Cal ready to compete for a bid. POWER definetly. South Bay sr coed, and Motoins and the all american team from cheergyms. i think there all ready to compete for it.
She meant West Coast Mavericks. I agree, mavericks didn't deserve 1st place. I thought they were were gonna get like 3rd or 4th actually. I also think she meant California all stars when she said CA.
