Back to the original post...

My daughter went to the sports therapist a few weeks ago. His thoughts??? Not enough stretching and warming up!! Jogging in a circle isn't enough. 5 minutes of stretching doesn't cut it either. You need to STRETCH, STRETCH, STRETCH!!!! There is no excuse for the "silly" injuries because alot of stretching will really help in that area. There is a reason gymnasts stretch for a good half hour each practice!!!

Drinking straight water isn't enough at times either. You lose salt when you sweat. Water does not replace this. You need electrolites when you work out. But drinking straight sports drinks sometimes is too much. Water them down so you are getting water as well as the electrolites you need. This will help alot too.

Eat well ladies and gents. Your bodies are machines. If you use that polluted "gas" , your machines won't last too long. Eat food that gives you energy and helps keep you strong. Injuries should really only be by accident if you plan it correctly. If you are getting sick from a tough workout, something is wrong. Your body talks to you! Listen to it!!!!

Cheer mom, its a great thing that USASF is taking more of an active role in governing all star cheerleading. It will make the activity safer and promote teams competing at the proper level.

As for South Bay, they have just as many injuries as any other team. I think their program has set Nor-Cal to a new level and am always excited to see what they bring to the table. Congrats to them for placing 2nd in a very competitive division and placing 1st in 2 divisions. Also placing 4th, I think in the sr. excel division which was very tough. Good job to them and all the other teams that competed at the American Grand.

Actually they were against themselves in the categories they got the 2 firsts in.it was really 3..also, their all girl got 4th in a division lower than they usually compete in. Seems like that is their appropriate level.

I dont usually post, I am just an avid reader. I've come to notice this and it really makes me mad when the SBE people take it as though every post is about them, weather it be good or bad, when the poster didnt even say who it was about. I'm not a hater nor a fan of SBE but I just wanted to say "get over it, its not all about SBE!" If a post is bad, they think its about them. If a post is good, they think its about them. There a lot of other teams, you know. When someone says something to be general, they go on insisting that they are puttind down SBE. Well you are wrong. Get over youself already.

Gooooooooo cheergyms!

I know that South Bay jr. coed and jr. coed int. were in their own division. I was at the competition. LOL =) Also many of the posts were about SBE , so they have a right to put something about their program on the message board. Last, the American Grand was a National level competition and when you compete nationally , then many teams switch divisions. What's good in Nor Cal , doesn't cut it nationally. That is not meant to be mean or rude, its just reality. What can you say when Cheer Athletics comes to town. Tons of fulls and tons of stunts. Seriously you have to think about whats best for your program. I think SBE made the right decision for their program.

THANK YOU! I think this is the BEST post yet. I live in San Diego now, and have been involved in many programs down here already, and one of the things I miss the most at cheergyms is the way I STRETCHED and WARMED UP at Motions! It is SO important to stretch BEFORE and AFTER practice.. I'm so excited that it got brought up on here!

First let me just say that i think your post was very rude. I dont see anyone on southbay putting down cheergyms at all. Cheergyms as a whole wasnt there so we should not assume what happend. Were not on Southbay, things go on that we dont no about. Its extremly uncalled for all of this nonsense. To me this post puts down cheergyms as a whole. It makes us look bad. Beofre you write thinnk of how this affects the look on our program when people come to read the messege board who arnt from cheergyms.

- south bay, from what ive heard you all performed very well at American Grand!! Awesome job in showing what Nor Cal is about! As well to POWER i have heard you performed amazing as always!!!!

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!! & happy Holidays!
