Is it true that the Great America competition is only 45 minutes long???? What happened to USA they used to be the most popular company now no one is going to their competitions... even nationals. Can anyone help me out and tell me why no is going to their competitions anymore?
I think its cause there are so many other options now. Look at american cheerleader magazine. I think there are at least 100 cheer companies now and they are coming to the west coast. All star teams do whats best for their kids and USA hasn't been known to always pick the best teams to win. Also they always have bad warm up areas, won't tolerate any changes, and just sometimes hard to work with.
no, it wasnt 45 minutes long lol... the cheer portion started at 11 and ended at 230. It was a high school and junior high competition so maybe its not the one you were talking about... hope i was able to clear the air! :)
Wow! I just went on-line and USA's final schedule says it starts @ 11:00a and ends @ 12:00p! In one catergory, I believe, the highest number of competitors was 2!! At first, I thought "Well, that's because it's three weekends in a row", but the all*star division is only this weekend. That is CRAZY! It was just two years ago that my daughter's previous team competed at USA and it was huge! Times they area changin...
As stated in the above posts: USA has horrible warm up facilities and times. You cannot expect to warm a team that has multiple elite passes and level 5 stunts in 4 minutes! They also do not have spring floors in the warm up rooms. Everyone needs to properly be able to warm up there passes.
Two years ago I took a youth organization to USA nationals and they did not have a full floor to warm up on! That seems ridiculous to me! How can a big organization like them not know what the customer needs and wants. Any time you call there office with a question they just tell you to look it up online or that they cannot help you. They lost my business years ago.
I think MANY cheer organizations , Ie. USA,jamfest, americheer, and coa need to get more professional. They throw around that word professional on all their ads, but yet to know what it really means. They lack good customer service on the phone, emails and not answered within 24 hours at times, they refer you to people who do not answer questions correctly, schedules are not put out until days before. Now other sports a the professional level put out schedules weeks before with accurate times and hold true to their deadlines. Just this weekend the JAMZ regionals schedule was not put out until today. Regardless of the reasoning people plan things around competitions and companies need to step up the organization. They sure want their money on time, so give good service just as they would want it.
I will be the first to admit that USA has some faults, but I think that people will notice that in the last two years they have made great strides in implementing the customer wants and needs. Their biggest downfall right now is that they are not advertising that they have made these changes. If you were to look in the USA competition brochure you would see that they clearly state which competitions have spring floors and which do not. They also have added "classics" this year which are competitions that are supposedly geared more towards the production side of cheerleading (meaning for all you all star teams out there that want the lights and the music, these comps are for you). USA right now is doing their best to cater not just to the big all star programs that want that kind of production, but also to the mom and pop cheer companies that just want to give their kids an opportunity to compete.
I know there has been a big drop off in the number of all star teams that have attended USA in the last two years, but I think before you guys started talking about all the things the do wrong you should research a little, a lot has changed with USA in the past couple of years and they are doing their best to reach the largest demographic.
With that said if you have complaints about USA let them know, they can't fix anything unless they know that it's a problem.
You say to let them know the issues that we have with them....that is the problem, for years everyone did call and voice concerns and until USA lost everyone business they did not make those changes. It would of been easier to make the changes years ago to keep the clientel then to now do so after we haven't competed in so long. Its kinda like the boy that cried wolf....you never know when to trust them.
I think that another main reason why they have been loosing business is because of how unfair they are. If you had a list of all of the teams from the competition, you could say how would get what place before any teams even compete! I think that they aren't fair at all.
yea to me it seems like USA has become one of those companies that super novice beginning programs go to to get a couple trophies in divisions with only 2 people
