personally, as a crosser myself, i LOVE it. I can't get enough of cheer and I consider it an honor to be on more than one team. It takes a lot of work! Sure people can say it's "unfair," but EVERY gym has the ability to cross. It's really up to the coaches and the athletes imo
I definitely agree with what a lot of you are saying. There is a complete difference in the execution of skills between a level4/5 athlete on a level 2 team in comparison to an athlete just learning there level 2 tumbling skills. I believe we should have a rule where you are only allowed to cross down or up to one level.
I completely understand where everyone is coming from on this topic. It has been in many of my "cheer discussions" over the past few years. Even though it can be very frustrating to compete in a level 1 division against another level 1 team with a handful of level 4 and 5 athletes, I don't think it would be necessary, AT THIS TIME, to limit what level an athlete can cross up or down to. Eventually this will have to be evaluated seriously.... but in the meantime they could have either limited the amount of crossovers per team or been stricter with the new rule, and instead of being able to compete on three teams, only two. That would have made a deeper impact on the crossover issues.
