Congrats to all the teams that got bids! I do have to say I don't think NCA should have gave away as many bids. How can a team that placed 23rd get a bid? That's just ridiculous. They are basically hand me down bids because all the teams above already had bids. I'm not trying to be rude, but I still think the bid system needs to be tweaked.

agreed^ but worlds is an experience that i think usasf can capitalize on and the more the merrier, why deny a hardworking team a bid, especially from a big business point of view thats more money in their pockets

The amount of bids given out is based on the size of the event . . . who is to say a 23rd placed team at one of the largest competitions in the world (larger than Worlds) deserves it any less then a high placed team at a small event (i.e. USA nationals).

If you get a bid take it and enjoy the experience who cares how you got it, your going to World's.

Yes, but if you take out the teams who had a bid before you are really aren't going against the best. You are going against team 18-30 who don't have bids (just an example, I have no idea how many were in every division or how many already had bids).

You have made the assumption that in any one division the difference between 1st and whatever place is a significant amount of points. Bids are generally handed out based on point total across several divisions. Therefore first in one division may not generate as high of points in another division for a lower placement.

And how can judges remember what a team that went 3rd of 4th in a division did 30 + teams later? To coin your term: Don't mean to sound rude but that is just ridiculous. Congratulations to any and all teams that received bids at the various competitions this weekend. And to the teams that went to NCA it sounds like it was a huge competition. Congratulations for not taking the easy way out.
